Not every kitchen needs to have everything on day one.

A simple L-shaped kitchen is one of our favourite ways to keep costs down without compromising on a clean, modern space.

You get the essentials, plenty of usable bench space and — most importantly — you get into your new home without the kitchen costing the earth.

Then life happens. The family grows. The kids somehow require 47 snacks a day. Suddenly you’re dreaming of more bench space…

That’s when you add the island.

Designing a home isn’t always about putting everything in now if you can't afford to. Sometimes it’s about making smart choices that work for your budget today, while leaving room for your home to grow with you tomorrow.

How are your school holidays going?

Ours have been bright, busy and mostly happy… sometimes you’re making magical childhood memories, and sometimes you’re just getting everyone through the day. And that’s okay too. 😂

They’re smiling beautifully in this photo, but don’t let that fool you — we’ve had a few tantys, negotiations, and sibling dramas moments along the way.

School holidays: equal parts wholesome family fun and wondering how it’s only 10.30am. 😅

Wouldn’t have it any other way… mostly. 😉

You don’t need a huge landscaping budget to make a big difference. 🌿

On this suburban site, most of the outdoor space needed to be dedicated to practical parking — but that didn’t mean we had to forget about the greenery altogether.

A few simple, low-maintenance planting areas soften all those hard surfaces, add some colour and give the property a much more finished feel ready for market.

No elaborate gardens. No future weekends lost to weeding. Just simple, smart landscaping in the right places.

Sometimes a little green goes a long way. 🌱

Happy Birthday to me! 🥂

A brand-new decade deserves to be celebrated in style and I think i’ve nailed the brief.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with the amazing people at Blue Duck Station on some housing solutions for a very rural location, so what better excuse to come back and celebrate at The Chef's Table at Blue Duck Station

Incredible people, an incredible location, ridiculously good food and a pretty amazing way to kick off the next decade.

If this is what 40 looks like, I’m very happy to be here. 🥂

Who’s ready for a break? 🙋‍♀️

School holidays start now and I am SO ready for them.

My kids are at that perfect age where I can sit on the deck for approximately 4.5 minutes with a cuppa and watch them tear around on the grass…

“Mummy, look at me!”
“Mummy, WATCH!”
“Mummy, did you SEE THAT?”
“Mummy, come and do it!”

And just like that, my peaceful deck moment is over and I’ve been recruited. 😂

But honestly, these are the good days — a bit of sunshine, kids playing outside and nowhere we need to rush off to.

Here’s to school holidays, slow mornings, backyard adventures and hopefully at least one entire cup of tea while it’s still hot. ☀️

We’ve got a rare gap in the schedule for a couple of our builders over the next few weeks.

We’ve got some huge projects kicking off next month, including our first two-storey build, but we couldn’t quite squeeze another full house build into the gap before they start.

So, while smaller jobs aren’t usually our jam, we’ve got a couple of very capable builders available and we’d rather keep them busy!
