Mahi Rākau is a family-owned and operated business which provides professional forest management and silviculture services. Due to strong growth we have a number of job opportunities.

We are currently looking for pruners and thinners in the Tūranganui-a-Kiwa area. There is also the opportunity for crew manager and supervisor roles for the right applicants who can work independently and who show leadership abilities. Experience is not necessary as full training will be given. Applicants must be reliable and drug free. Mahi Rākau has a drug-free work place policy and applicants must agree to pre-employment and random drug testing. Accommodation available for the right people.

Up the mountains and down the gullies! 2021 planting season has thrown us some tough terrain to start off with but it won't stop us. One million trees planted as of the 6th of June!!

We are looking for planting technicians for the 2021 planting season. Roughly from May through October. Good rates starting at $25.50 per hour with the potential to earn more. The more trees you plant properly in the ground the more you can earn.

Experience is a bonus, but not necessary, as full training will be provided. More important are a good attitude, reliability and a reasonable level of fitness. The terrain and weather can be challenging so you need to be fit and able to work in all types of weather.

You must pass a pre-employment drug test as we have zero tolerance for drug impaired workers in the workplace.

There is also potential for ongoing work for the right people.
