🌸 Pretty Hellebores – Winter Roses 🌸
There’s something so special about seeing the first hellebores flowering in the garden. 🌿💕 These beautiful Winter Roses bring a welcome splash of colour through the coldest months and are one of the first little signs that spring is on its way.
With their delicate, nodding flowers and lovely colours, hellebores are such a treasure in the winter garden — quietly flowering away while everything else is still sleeping.
A little promise of warmer days ahead… 🌱☀️

It's hard to believe my garden will be flowering in more alive in just a few short weeks left of winter ❄. This morning I ventured out to enjoy the very cold frost. Enjoy my garden photos with shades of silver ice 💙

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago 🌿. I was lucky to have a bit of mechanical help on the coldest morning of the year! Every year we try to buy a few trees to add to our paddocks which are in the view from our house and garden 🌄. My husband is not really what you'd call a gardener but he's doing a pretty good job of our wee piece of land.
The most exciting bit for me was I've been allowed to go beyond the borders of my garden, planting two just past our wooden gate! 2 Malus Flamingo trees which will hopefully be in flower for the .
I bought them from 🌿 The best place to buy trees and plants!

Today is a good day for ducks with a very welcome rain for the garden! 🦆. Donald and Herbie are becoming more tame now. They've been here a week and now paddling over to see me. Aren't they beautiful 💚🦆

🌿 The Great Boundary Rehash at Terrace View Garden 🌿
When we first moved onto the Rotherham main road with two little boys, a dog, and two cats, safety and privacy were everything. We decided to let the boundary bushes grow wild—and they definitely took that assignment seriously! 😂
Through heavy snow damage, wild seedlings, and self-seeded ribbonwoods, they grew so much that we completely lost our clean garden line.
Over the last month, I’ve been on a mission to reclaim it:

🪓 Limbing up branches to let the light back in

🪨 Shifting heavy rocks & digging out stubborn roots

🌱 Laying fresh topsoil & tucking in new plantings

The ultimate win? I finally uncovered
our original entranceway fence that had been swallowed by the jungle and gave it a fresh coat of stain today! 🪵✨
It’s still a work in progress, but I’m so happy with how far it's come.
