**Cracks in your ceiling? Painting over them isn’t always the answer. 🏠🔨**

This garage ceiling had some significant cracking along the GIB joins. Rather than simply plastering over the cracks and hoping they didn’t return, we addressed the underlying issue first.

Because the affected GIB joins ran in the opposite direction to the ceiling joists, we installed **back blocking in the ceiling space**, allowing us to glue and screw the joins to provide additional support and help reduce the chance of future cracking.

From there, we:

✔️ Fibre-taped the affected joins
✔️ Applied a full three-coat plaster system
✔️ Sanded and prepared the repaired areas
✔️ Primed the repairs
✔️ Colour-matched the existing ceiling and repainted

The end result? **You’d never know the cracks had been there.** 👌

Good painting is about much more than the final coat. **Proper preparation and repair work underneath is what makes the difference.**
