NEWS FLASH ⚡ We’ve got a new co-owner!

After 8 years at Queenstown Electric, we’re stoked to share that Shaun has officially become a co-owner of the business.

Some people get a gold watch after 8 years. Shaun got shares, paperwork, and significantly more things to worry about! 😂

For those who don’t know the team behind Queenstown Electric, meet the owners:

📋 Kat — runs the office
🔌 Dave — runs out of time
⚡ Shaun — now runs the risk of being blamed for everything

Jokes aside, this is a pretty special milestone for us.

Shaun has put a huge amount into Queenstown Electric over the years. He’s worked hard, looked after our customers, backed the team and played a big part in building the business into what it is today.

So when the opportunity came to bring him in as a partner, it just made sense.

We’re proud of what we’ve built as a local Queenstown business, and even more excited about what’s ahead with Shaun joining Kat and Dave as an owner.

Congrats Shaun — well earned, mate. ⚡

Throwing all sorts of shade (the good kind).

We’ve been loving these pendant lights we recently installed — sleek, sculptural, and just the right amount of “wow” without trying too hard. The light playing off the fine metal detailing and those warm ceiling tones adds heaps of depth and a proper ambient glow. Not just lighting… a feature.

Big shout out to Simpson Building for the stunning ceiling and Shou Sugi Ban fireplace install, and Hazweld for the steel balustrade awesomeness.

If you are building in Queenstown and just tick “standard lighting” on the plans, you often end up with a grid of downlights and not much else. Looks fine on paper, feels harsh once you move in.

Instead of copying a standard layout, we go room by room with you and the builder. We ask where the couch actually goes, where the dining table really sits, which walls will have art, and how you want the kitchen to feel at night. Then we adjust switching, add wall lights where it matters, suggest pendants over benches or tables, and reduce pointless downlights where they are not needed.

Our electricians then wire and fit everything to that plan, so when you hit a switch, the light suits what you are doing, not just where someone guessed the furniture might be.

If you are still at the plan stage, send us your drawings and we’ll mark up a practical lighting layout before the gib goes on.
