Some legends leave a lasting legacy, and today, we're celebrating one of ours.

After being part of Kinetic Electrical since almost the very beginning, our wonderful Brian is officially hanging up his work boots and heading into a well-earned retirement!

We recently had the pleasure of celebrating this special milestone alongside Brian, his lovely wife Glenda, and the Kinetic tribe.

When Brian first joined us, Kinetic was a small operation with just half a dozen people. Fast-forward to today, and we've grown into a business with two branches and nearly 50 staff.

Brian has been part of that journey every step of the way.

But while businesses grow, tribes change and technology evolves, it's people like Brian who help build the foundations that make a company what it is.

His loyalty, experience, hard work and the knowledge he's shared over the years have made a lasting contribution to Kinetic. More importantly, he's become part of the Kinetic family, and it's going to be difficult imagining the place without him.

Brian, thank you for everything.

For the years you've given us, the work you've put in, the people you've helped and the part you've played in making Kinetic what it is today.

We wish you and Glenda a wonderful retirement filled with new adventures, quality time together and plenty of opportunities to enjoy life without the early morning alarm!

You'll be missed, mate. But remember, retirement doesn't mean you're allowed to become a stranger!

Now THIS is what happens when electrical expertise and automation come together!

Our East Tāmaki workshop has been a hive of activity, with our automation team designing, building, programming and commissioning this impressive extraction control panel on behalf of Viking.

And when we say impressive, we mean it!

This panel has been developed to control 15 extraction fans, bringing together the electrical components and automation systems required for the client's extraction setup.

But what makes this project particularly special isn't just the size of the panel.

It's the expertise behind it.

From the initial design and intricate panel wiring through to programming and commissioning, the entire process has been handled by our talented in-house team.

Having these capabilities under one roof means we can bring different areas of electrical and automation expertise together to deliver tailored solutions for our customers.

A fantastic example of the skills, attention to detail and teamwork that go into the work we do every day.

And judging by the photo, someone has been putting in some serious hours getting every last detail just right!

Almost 10 years, one incredible journey, and a whole lot of reasons to celebrate!

Meet Julius Ingal, our Senior Electrician/Draughtsman, who started his journey with Kinetic as an apprentice and has been part of our team ever since.

Over the years, we've watched Julius grow from someone learning the ropes into a highly skilled professional, contributing across industrial projects, electrical installations and design.

But what makes Julius such a valued member of our team goes well beyond his technical abilities.

He's humble, dependable, always willing to learn and someone his teammates can count on. He takes genuine pride in his work, and for him, there's nothing better than seeing a happy customer at the end of a job.

Outside work, Julius is a dedicated family man who enjoys spending time with his partner and two daughters, whether that's heading away on a road trip or enjoying some downtime together.

And as you'll discover from his quick-fire questions, there's definitely a fun side to Julius too!

We're incredibly proud of the journey you've taken with us, Julius. Watching our apprentices develop into experienced professionals is one of the best parts of what we do.

Here's to almost a decade of hard work, growth and being part of the Kinetic family.

At Kinetic Electrical, we believe being part of a community means more than just working in it. It means showing up, getting involved and lending a hand where we can.

We're proud to support some fantastic local schools and community fundraising events through donations of prizes for raffles, auctions and giveaways.

This includes Mauku School's Country Life Day, Buckland School's Agricultural Day, and the Cure Kids fundraising events hosted by Columbus Coffee at Mitre 10 MEGA Pukekohe and Botany.

These events bring people together, raise valuable funds and make a real difference to the organisations and causes behind them.

A big shout-out to the organisers, volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes to make these events happen. We're delighted to play a small part in supporting your efforts!

A new chapter in fleet electrification is taking shape across the Waikato, and our Kinetic team is helping make it happen!

The first of a series of 60kW DC fast chargers has now been installed, marking an exciting step towards supporting our customer's new fleet of electric vehicles.

With charging times of approximately 50 minutes for a full charge, these chargers will help keep the fleet moving and minimise downtime between journeys.

And this is just the beginning!

As more chargers are installed across the region, we're proud to be playing our part in building the electrical infrastructure that supports the move towards electric transport.

Taking electrical work to another level. Literally. ⚡

There are some pretty impressive things happening on this Auckland City site for Marin Construction, and the Kinetic team is right in amongst it.

These jacking systems are used in tandem to position the preform at the precise height required for the concrete floor to be poured. Once that level is complete, the system can then “climb” to the next required level, ready for the process to happen again.

And there’s a bit of a Kinetic story behind those big yellow jacks.

Our team originally wired the jacking systems for Jacking Systems, who supply the equipment. Now that they’re hard at work on site, we’re continuing to support Marin Construction with the electrical and automation side during the live jump.

Kayden is on site, with Dion providing remote support as the system makes its way through the process.

It’s pretty rewarding seeing equipment we’ve worked on doing exactly what it was designed to do, especially on a project of this scale in the heart of Auckland.

Another great example of where electrical, automation and construction come together.

⚡ Now THAT’S a roadside stop.

Sometimes the journey home delivers a view that’s simply too good to drive past.

One of our team, Ben, better known around Kinetic as Neb, was on his way home when a snow-covered Mt Ruapehu provided the perfect excuse to pull over and capture these incredible shots of his Kinetic van.

Our work takes us to projects across the North Island, which means plenty of time on the road, long days and a fair few kilometres along the way. But every now and then, those journeys also take us through some pretty incredible parts of New Zealand.

This was definitely one of those moments.

And for anyone wondering about the name “Neb”, there’s a little bit of Kinetic history behind it. When Ben was an apprentice, we had two Bens in the team, so “Neb” became his nickname to tell them apart.

Many years later, it’s safe to say that one has well and truly stuck!

Great shot, Neb. Definitely worth pulling over for.

Turns out our Tribe has a few hidden talents…🎨⚡

The tools were swapped for paintbrushes at our latest Kinetic Social Club event, as the East Tāmaki and Franklin teams got together for an evening of painting, good food, a few drinks and plenty of laughs.

With the same reference image in front of everyone, you’d think the finished masterpieces might look fairly similar…We’ll let you be the judge of that. 😂

A huge thank you to Olive and Blue Creative for hosting us and somehow managing to turn a bunch of sparkies into artists for the evening! Even better, Olive and Blue Creative is owned by the wife of one of our very own Kinetic Tribe, which made supporting them that little bit more special.

Our Social Club events are about getting away from the job sites and projects for a while, bringing both branches together and simply enjoying being part of the Tribe.

⚡ Another new build taking shape in Glen Murray! 🏡

The Kinetic Franklin team has completed the electrical prewire for this new home in Glen Murray, getting everything in place before the build moves into its next stages.

There’s something pretty satisfying about being involved from the early stages of a new build and then coming back for the fit-off when it all starts to come together.

The prewire is done, the fit-off is now underway, and we can’t wait to see the completed home and finished result!

🚁⚡ Never a dull moment when you’re working at the top of the Waitākere Ranges!

Not your average day on the tools for the Kinetic East Tāmaki team, and certainly not your average way to get a new power pole into position!

We were recently part of a wider team completing works at a property high in the Waitākere Ranges, where the transmission company was replacing its assets.

The existing overhead lines were removed to allow the old pole to be replaced, with a helicopter brought in to fly the new pole into position.

Once the new pole was installed and the overhead lines rehung, our Kinetic team stepped in to complete the consumer mains connection, carry out testing and recommission the installation alongside the lines company, getting everything safely back up and running.

A great example of the planning, coordination and teamwork that can go into what might otherwise sound like a straightforward electrical connection, especially when the location adds a few extra logistical challenges!

And we have to admit…the office views weren’t too bad either.
