Ask someone why they're moving instead of renovating and "it'll be cheaper" comes up a lot. It's rarely actually true once every cost is on the table.
Agent commission. Legal fees, twice, once on the sale, once on the purchase. Moving costs, which climb fast with a family home's worth of furniture. Time off work to pack, settle, and unpack. And often, a mortgage top-up at a higher rate than the one you're currently on.
None of that shows up when you're scrolling listings. It only shows up once you're partway through the process, and by then you're committed.
Extending has its own costs too, and we'll always be upfront about them. But they're costs you can see and plan for from day one.
If you're weighing up moving versus extending, ask us to help you run the full comparison.
