It's sometimes a hard graft, but it is always worth it.
This puriri tree, which is outside our bedroom window, has been the catalyst, I think, in taking us on this journey. It is there every morning and evening, protecting us from the wind, providing shade in the summer and a place for Chritas (the lads types) to climb and the birds to thrive.
At Chritas Wood, not only do we remove trees that are causing trouble, aren't where they should be, or in a state they shouldn't be in, but we also plant trees because you know what? Right tree, right place.
Love hearing the tui enjoying the puriri, while the piwakawaka flit around. They're my spirit animal.
