Spring cleaning? Don’t forget what’s under the surface. 🌿

It’s easy to focus on windows, cupboards and surfaces, but some of the areas that collect the most dirt, dust and everyday grime are the ones we use every day.

Carpets, couches, rugs and even tile and grout can all benefit from a proper professional clean after winter.

Swipe through to check out a few commonly overlooked areas to add to your spring cleaning list.

Ready for a proper spring reset? Capital Chem-Dry can help.

Here's Why Cleaning Your Carpet Isn’t the Same as Protecting It:

Most people think that once a carpet looks clean, the job is done.

Vacuum it. Maybe get it steam cleaned. Job sorted.

But what you can’t see is what usually causes the real long-term issues.

Even after a professional clean, carpets can still hold:
🟢 Bacteria and allergens deep in the fibres
🟢 Odour-causing particles trapped below the surface
🟢 Residue from spills and foot traffic that keeps building over time

And in Wellington homes, with humidity and day-to-day wear, that buildup doesn’t just sit there quietly.

It starts to affect:
🟢 Air quality inside the home
🟢 How fresh the carpet smells over time
🟢 How quickly it gets dirty again
This is where carpet protection goes beyond cleaning.

At Capital Chem-Dry, our Sanitise, Deodorise and Protect service is designed to treat what’s left behind after cleaning, not just what you can see.

It works by:
🟢 Targeting bacteria at a fibre level
🟢 Neutralising odours instead of masking them
🟢 Adding a protective layer to help resist future spills and wear

The result isn’t just a cleaner carpet. It’s a carpet that stays cleaner for longer.

Because the real difference isn’t in how a carpet looks right after cleaning.

It’s how it holds up weeks and months later.

If you’re unsure whether your carpets just need a clean or a deeper level of protection, email us at [email protected] or call us on 04 473 3399.

Winter walks are great for pets, but wet weather can bring more than muddy paws through the door. 🐾

Wet carpets, damp fur and those not-so-mysterious pet odours can quickly make their way through the home.

At Capital Chem-Dry, we’ve got the professional services to help get your home back to fresh, including our PURT treatment. It targets odours at the source rather than simply masking them and it’s completely safe for your furry friends.

So when the weather outside is wet, don’t let your home smell like the walk came home too. Give us a call! 💚

Your carpet cleaner might be dirtier than your carpet. 👀

That Rug Doctor might look clean… but do you know when it was last properly cleaned or serviced?

DIY carpet cleaners are used by plenty of people, meaning the machine itself can hold onto dirt, grime and residue from previous jobs. Not exactly what you want being pushed through your carpets. 😬

At Capital Chem-Dry, we use professional-grade equipment that’s regularly maintained and designed to give your carpets a proper, deep clean.

So before you hire the machine and do it yourself, ask yourself: what exactly am I cleaning my carpet with?

It’s better to leave it to the professionals. 🧼

Call us today to book a clean.
