Richard Janutka (B.Sc Biology/Chemistry), former Marlborough Boys College Mathematics teacher, has practiced urban permaculture for over 20 years between Japan and New Zealand. He extensively studied the "no work" method of organic farming in Japan, under the teachings of Masanobu Fukuoka. His food growing systems are a mixture of Japanese, Cuban and Indian organic and permaculture systems.
