Rewiring some existing lights at Gracefield school which were not earthed and found to be unsafe. It was a tricky undertaking with no ceiling access or roof space, but Xavier, Lewis and Sophia completed the job without having to cut or drill into the ceiling. Here in New Zealand, you need to test and tag electrical equipment to ensure workplace safety and meet legal "duty of care" obligations. It's legally compulsory (typically every 3 months) for harsh, high-risk environments where equipment is prone to abuse like construction, demolition and industrial work. Swing by with your tools and leads and we can test and tag on the spot, or we can come to your workplace!🔖

⚠️You should NOT throw old fluorescent tubes into your normal household or commercial rubbish bins. Fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) contain a small amount of hazardous mercury vapour. Breaking them in the rubbish bin releases toxic mercury into the environment and landfill. The fragile glass tubes easily shatter, posing a risk of cuts and toxic exposure to waste handlers. Take your old fluorescent tubes to a specialised recycling drop-off point, Mitre 10 accept residential fluorescent bulbs for recycling, Companies like interwaste.co.nz collect unwanted fluorescent tubes, or check with your local council to drop them off at a designated hazardous waste facility or transfer station. 👍
