Hot water upgrade done right!

Another great transformation by the team at Peter Jackson Plumbing! 👏

This project involved installing a Rinnai HydraHeat heat pump hot water system, this unit has the heat pump and cylinder combined but replaceable. This means you can replace just the cylinder or just the heap pump portion or you can start with just the cylinder and add the heat pump in future.

To make it work perfectly, we cut out a section of the existing deck and built a concrete slab to give the heat pump a solid, suitable base. We then removed the old hot water system and installed the new HydraHeat.

A bit of extra work behind the scenes to get the job looking smart ! 🔧

Thinking about upgrading your hot water system? Get in touch with our team to find out what options are right for your home.

🔧 A pretty exciting milestone for Peter Jackson Plumbing!

We’re proud to announce that we now have self-certification capability for both plumbing and drainlaying, alongside our existing gas certification authorisation.

Self-certification for plumbing and drainlaying is a brand-new scheme in New Zealand, which officially commenced on 7 September 2026.

For eligible work, and where the building consent allows it, an endorsed plumber or drainlayer can inspect, test and certify their own work rather than having that work inspected by council.

It’s important to note that self-certification doesn’t mean cutting corners. The work still needs to meet the Building Code and the approved building consent, with strict requirements around inspections, testing, photographic evidence, records, insurance and accountability.

We’ve gone through the endorsement process and are really proud to now have this capability across plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying.

It’s another step forward for our team and reflects the experience, systems and standards we’ve built into Peter Jackson Plumbing over many years.

Plumbing. Gasfitting. Drainlaying. One team. One high standard. 🔧

💪🏼

Who says the boss never gets his hands dirty??😜

Not the case when it comes to Peter Jackson who shows he wants a piece of the action AND knows there’s a job to be done as he installs a floor waste👍

Proud to help create facilities for our community 🙏🏻

Guaranteed no one has ever said..."I took my family to play a round of mini golf just to check out the toilet facilities"...but that was exactly what I did this weekend! 😄
And if you have been following our Top Up Kapiti page, you will know why.
With the need for a toilet facility at the Mazengarb Park Mini Golf course, Mal Bird approached a number of local Kapiti businesses to help out. The result exceeded expectations and was (what I consider) the perfect example of local business generosity, teamwork and community spirit ...giving their time, resources and skills to build it for free.
It feels even more special to see such goodwill and contributions during a time of such economic pressures.

Top Up Kapiti acknowledges these businesses with a well deserved standing ovation 👏👏
We’d also encourage everyone following our page to give them a bit of a plug and show them your support as well - even just by sharing our posts with family, friends and colleagues.

The Mini Golf course is a welcomed addition to the many attractions on the Kapiti Coast and is a wonderful way to have some fun in the sun with, no doubt, a bit of friendly banter and competitiveness.
Come and check it out (and of course the new top notch facilities 😜), you won’t be disappointed!

What a great few days at the New Zealand Plumbing Conference 🇳🇿🔧

Plenty of insight, real conversations, and a solid look at where our industry is heading. Always good to step out of the day-to-day and come back with fresh ideas and renewed motivation.

Big thanks to everyone who shared their knowledge and made the event what it was — really proud to be part of an industry that keeps pushing forward.

Back home and back to it, with a few new ideas in the toolkit 💧💪

We’re excited to introduce the newest member of the team, little Micah. Welcome to the world, Micah! We can’t wait to watch you grow (although we might give you a few more years before handing you the tools! 🔧😄)

Congratulations to the family on their beautiful new arrival. 💙
