🏡 Behind the scenes of a new build or renovation! 🔧

Ever wondered what goes into installing a heat pump before it’s even switched on?

Our process starts on-site, where we work with the build to mark out indoor unit positions and identify where holes need to be cut.

🔹 Stage 1: Mark out positions and plan the installation.
🔹 Stage 2: Before the walls are lined, we return to pre-pipe, installing all the necessary pipework and connections inside the walls for a clean, hidden finish.
🔹 Stage 3: Once the walls are lined and painted, we come back to fit off the indoor units, connect everything, test and commission the system.

It’s all about getting the timing right and working alongside the other trades to ensure a tidy, professional finish with minimal visible pipework. 👌

When Everything Changes Overnight: A Family’s Fight to Rebuild

In a matter of moments, everything familiar can be taken away.

For our friend and his family, the house they built with their own hands and filled with years of memories is no longer accessible to them. It wasn’t just a structure — it was their sanctuary. Every wall held effort, love, sacrifice, and pride. It was the place where milestones were celebrated, where grief was held, where ordinary days became precious memories.

Just a few months ago, he lost his mum — a loss that already reshaped his world. Grief doesn’t come neatly packaged. It lingers. It exhausts. It changes you. And before the family could fully find their footing again, another wave hit.

Now, instead of being able to focus on healing, he is navigating insurance claims, EQC processes, and government systems — all while unable to work as he tries to sort everything out. Managing paperwork and uncertainty while carrying deep personal grief is an overwhelming load for anyone.

In the meantime, they cannot access their belongings. The everyday items we take for granted — clothes, family photos, treasured keepsakes — are out of reach. The home that once represented safety and stability now sits in limbo.

For now, they are staying in Featherston, waiting. Waiting for assessments. Waiting for decisions. Waiting for clarity on what the next chapter will look like.

They didn’t just lose a house.

They lost their anchor.

After years across refrigeration and HVAC — from big ducting and chillers to heat pumps — Hamish Eden has built a reputation for tidy installs and high standards. One recent job in Nikau Valley swapped out a whole-house gas system for a zoned ducted heat pump. Each room now runs at its own temperature, and the household power bill has halved, all while retiring gas.
What sets Hamish apart is a bit of OCD about doing things right. He won’t “chuck it in” or cut corners, and he prefers quality gear over the cheapest option. Most of his work is in Wellington, but he’s keen to bring more of that workmanship home to the Kāpiti Coast.

🎄✨ Feeling Extra Grateful (and Slightly Outdone) This Christmas! ✨🎄

We just want to say a massive THANK YOU to all of our amazing customers this silly season. The trust you give us by welcoming us into your homes means the world and honestly, the Christmas spirit you’ve all brought this year has been next level!

Walking into each of your beautifully decorated homes had us feeling like we were doing a Kapiti Christmas Tour of Lights. 😂 Every single house was so magical, it actually gave us the nudge we needed to lift our own game at home.

In fact… we even decorated our heat pump.
Yes, the same one we keep meaning to pull out (one day… when we finally get a spare minute) since installing our ducted system a few months back, which, by the way, has been a TOTAL life saver with this warmer Kapiti weather! ☀️❄️

Most people don’t realise dirty filters are the #1 reason heat pumps stop performing, use more power, or start blowing dust around the house.

Here’s what most people don’t know:
