Design Decisions with Cara | Part 1 🏡

When it came to designing her own Jennian home, our interior designer Cara knew she wanted a kitchen that felt warm, inviting and, most importantly, functional.

With four kids and a dog, practicality was a big part of the design! From the forgiving timber tones and durable, scratch-resistant porcelain benchtops to a cleverly designed hidden pantry, every detail was thoughtfully considered with busy family life in mind.

With a pitched ceiling, the addition of skylights brings in plenty of natural light, creating a beautiful, timeless kitchen that balances style with everyday living.

Follow along as Cara takes us through the design decisions behind her Jennian home!

Spend or Save? 🏡

Haydon went into this thinking he'd be saving on everything… turns out, he had a few things worth splurging on! 😂

From kitchen benchtops to feature lighting and sculleries, we're kicking off Part 1 of our Spend or Save series with the Jennian Homes Manawatū team.

When it comes to building your dream home, what would you spend on and where would you save when it comes to these?

A very special handover for another one of our own 🏡

This time, we had the pleasure of handing over the keys to our Construction Coordinator, Tory and her husband Brandon.

With an eye for detail and a background in kitchen design, Tory definitely had plenty of ideas to bring to her own home - and if you know Tory, you’ll know she brought plenty of personality to the process too!

And of course, she couldn’t let handover day go by without making it a proper celebration… margaritas , sombreros and all. 🍹😂

It’s always special seeing a new home come together, but there’s something pretty cool about getting to build one for a member of our own team.

Congratulations Tory and Brandon - welcome home! ❤️

Behind every square metre is a network of people helping bring it all together.

For more than 44 years, CARTERS has worked alongside Jennian Homes, supplying builders across New Zealand and sharing a commitment to the same goal - delivering quality homes for everyday Kiwis.

We caught up with Gareth to talk about the longstanding relationship between our teams and what goes into creating homes that are built to last.

Because a great home isn’t just about what you see when you walk through the door. It’s the quality materials, trusted suppliers, strong relationships and people behind every square metre that make the difference.

We’re proud to have CARTERS as part of the Jennian Homes journey.

We asked Rachel and Aaron - what did you learn along the way when building a new home?

For Rachel, it was about coming into the process with ideas. Know what you like, know what you don’t, and remember there’s plenty of flexibility when you’re building from scratch.

For Aaron, it was how easy the process felt. Nothing ever seemed like a hassle or took up more time than it needed to - they always felt like the Jennian Homes Manawatū team had their best interests at heart.

A little advice from two people who have been through the building journey themselves 🏡

When Aaron and Rachel started looking at building, finding the right team was important.

They wanted someone who would listen to what they wanted, advocate for them throughout the process, and make building their home feel like a partnership.

After looking around at different building companies, they chose Jennian Homes Manawatū - and for them, a big part of that decision came down to the people.

From how easy the team were to talk to, to the regular updates along the way, Aaron and Rachel felt supported and involved throughout their build.

We loved hearing about their experience and why they chose to build with Jennian.

Behind every square metre is a team making it happen.

Meet Haydon, Managing Director of Jennian Homes Manawatū.

With more than 10 years at Jennian Homes, Haydon knows the business inside and out.

An analyst at heart, he loves getting into the detail, solving problems and working alongside the team to keep everything moving in the right direction. But for Haydon, it’s always been about the people. He genuinely cares about the team around him and loves working closely with clients throughout their building journey - many of whom have gone on to become great friends.

And if you’ve spent any time around Haydon, chances are you’ll recognise him before you see him… that laugh is pretty hard to miss. 😂

More than 10 years of building homes, relationships and plenty of good memories along the way.
