🐭 We've seen some things... but this one takes the cake.

A customer called us out after their oven sparked when switching on at the wall. The culprit? A mouse had taken up residence in the back of the oven — and paid the price for it. 😬

Beyond the unwanted tenant, we found:
- Holes in the base of the oven
- A damaged top element
- A unit that was simply not safe to use
We helped the customer source a replacement stove and get back to cooking safely. ✅

The lesson here? Don't ignore the warning signs from your appliances. Sparks, unusual noises, smells, or anything that just doesn't feel right — these are your cue to call a qualified electrician before things get worse (or more… furry).

🔧 Heat Pump Servicing — Don't Wait Until It's Too Late!

We recently serviced two heat pumps at a residential property, and the results were a good reminder of why regular maintenance matters.

The lounge unit had a very dirty filter but was otherwise in great shape — after a clean-up, filter check, and connection inspection, it was running perfectly with temps hitting 50°C heating and 10°C cooling. ✅

The hall unit told a different story. Clogged filters, hair and fluff built up on the coils, a faulty remote, and a strange noise from the condenser — and despite getting it running, it couldn't reach the required temperature range. Given its age and condition, we recommended replacement over repair. ❌

Regular servicing can extend the life of your heat pump and catch small problems before they become expensive ones. Don't wait until your unit fails!

⚡ Decades of ignored wiring — finally sorted! 😅

This garage electrical setup had been left untouched for a very long time, and it showed. Outdated, non-compliant, and overdue for a serious overhaul — so we got it sorted properly.

Here's what we did:
✅ Removed the old switchboard and installed a new distribution board with RCD, 16-amp breaker, and 6-amp breaker
✅ Removed two external wall lights and an external spotlight, wiring back to the new board
✅ Earthed the switchboard entry point (shoot) — something that had been missed entirely

Old wiring doesn't always look dangerous, but that doesn't mean it's safe. If your garage, shed, or home hasn't had an electrical check in years, it's worth a look before it becomes a problem.

About Us:
Managh Electrical is part of the RPW Trades Group — local, trusted electricians & property services specialists delivering quality electrical, renovation and maintenance work across homes, businesses and larger sites.

What You’ll Do:
As a qualified electrician, you’ll work across a wide range of electrical projects, including:
* Residential installations (new homes, renovations, kitchens & bathrooms)
* Property maintenance and upgrade work
* Commercial and light industrial installations, fault finding & maintenance
* Testing, inspections, compliance and safe commissioning of electrical systems

About You:
- Current EWRB practising licence (required)
- Ideally experience with Heat Pump installation/maintenance
- Proven experience in residential and commercial electrical work
- Solid understanding of NZ electrical codes, standards & safety regulations
- Ability to read plans, fault find and solve problems confidently
- Excellent communicator with a strong focus on customer service
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently or in a team
- Full NZ driver’s licence
