Hopper Construction Limited is seeking an experienced, motivated and hands-on Civil Construction Foreman / Supervisor to join our growing team.
We are a well-established civil construction company specialising in earthworks, drainage, roading, subdivisions and civil infrastructure projects throughout Auckland and surrounding regions.
With a strong pipeline of ongoing and upcoming projects, we are looking for someone who can lead from the front, take ownership of site operations and deliver quality results while maintaining a safe and productive working environment.
About the Role
As a Foreman / Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of civil construction sites, leading crews and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required standards.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring someone who can effectively manage people, plant, materials and subcontractors while also being willing to jump in and assist the team when required.
Key Responsibilities
*Supervise and coordinate daily civil construction activities.
*Lead, motivate and manage site crews to achieve project targets.
*Plan and allocate labour, machinery, materials and resources effectively.
*Oversee earthworks, drainage, roading and subdivision activities.
*Read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
*Ensure works are completed to the required quality standards and deadlines.
*Maintain high health and safety standards across all site activities.
*Conduct toolbox meetings, site briefings and safety inspections.
*Liaise with Area Manager, Business Management, Subcontractors and Suppliers.
*Identify and resolve site issues before they impact project delivery.
*Monitor productivity, costs and project progress.
*Complete daily site records, reporting and relevant documentation.
*Support and mentor team members to maintain a positive and productive team culture.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
*Proven experience as a Civil Construction Foreman, Supervisor or experienced Leading Hand ready to step up.
*Strong practical knowledge of civil bulk earthworks, drainage, roading and subdivision construction.
*Experience leading crews and managing multiple site activities.
*The ability to read and understand civil construction drawings.
*Strong planning, communication and organisational skills.
*Sound knowledge of New Zealand health and safety requirements.
*The confidence to make decisions, solve problems and take responsibility.
*Experience operating civil construction machinery would be advantageous.
*A full, current New Zealand driver's licence.
*RTW competency
*A reliable work ethic, positive attitude and commitment to quality workmanship.
*Must be able to pass a pre employment Drug and alcohol test.
