Moody Monday at Cameron's Pit 🌈

When it comes to gravel sales, we've got options - and plenty of them.

With multiple quarries across Otago, Whitestone supplies a wide range of quality gravel and sandstone products for roading, driveways, drainage and construction. Reliable supply, consistent quality, locally sourced.

A proud moment for our Waitaki Civil Team.

Great to be on site yesterday celebrating the official opening of the Kakanui Bridge - a project that reflects a lot of dedication, teamwork and local pride.

Today marks the first transfer of bitumen from our new bitumen trailer into the sprayer.

This moment represents more than new equipment - it's about investing in smarter, safer and more efficient ways of working, and backing our crews with the tools they need to deliver great results on site.

Well done to everyone involved in getting this new setup ready for action πŸ‘

Our teams are currently at work across Central Otago and Queenstown, delivering vegetation and environmental solutions on challenging sites.

In Frankton, the team are completing hydroseeding for Base Contracting, supporting site stabilisation and long-term landscape outcomes.

Meanwhile at Skyline Queenstown, work is underway on the awarded Stage 4 project for Naylor Love. This complex job involves specialist crews abseiling down the cliff face to remove vegetation, followed by planting, hydroseeding, and irrigation installation to support regeneration in a demanding environment.

It's skilled work, often in tough conditions - and a great example of the expertise our people bring to every project.

A sunrise snapshot from Ramrock Road, taken during an early morning Total Vegetation Control (TVC) spray.

This is some of the country our crews get to see while keeping roadsides safe, accessible and well maintained - before most people are even out of bed.

Some progress shots from the shop side of Kakanui as work continues on the Kakanui Bridge Revenwal project.

We've got Road Metals in, with our team onsite carting gravel. It's great to see this stage of the project coming together.

A big thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while we work through this phase of the project - we appreciate the support from the local community.

Progress is well underway at St Bathans as we remediate a historic landfill site.
The works are designed to stabilise the land, protect the nearby waterway, and prepare the site for long-term rehabilitation - including future native planting.

Proud to be delivering careful, environmentally responsible work in this unique Central Otago landscape.

If you're heading to our Deborah Depot while the SH1 closure is in place nearby, don't worry - our yard is still open and operating as usual.

Just follow the signposted detours and allow a little extra time getting in and out.

SH1 OAMARU, OTAGO – KIWIRAIL INSPECTIONS

Plan ahead for a daytime CLOSURE of SH1 at the Deborah Rail Underpass, between McLeods Rd and Bulleid Rd, 9am to 3pm on Monday 23 February.

Follow signposted detours and allow an additional 5 minutes for travel through the area during this time.

This work depends on various factors and may be amended or rescheduled. ^CS

Some of our Central Otago Vegetation team recently completed NZQA-accredited Side-by-Side training.

A really engaging course with practical learnings, and the crew walked away feeling more confident using this plant πŸ‘
