From old bungalow to a home made for modern living.

This project started as an older Auckland bungalow, and while we wanted to give the house a completely new life, we didn’t want to erase its story.

We extended the home to create a new master bedroom with direct access to the deck, walk-in wardrobe, bathroom, second living space and studio. The exterior was also transformed with new cladding, roofing and windows, giving the house a completely refreshed look.

But there was one thing we chose to keep — the original timber flooring.

Instead of replacing it, we restored it and allowed all those little marks, knots and imperfections to remain visible. Against everything new, the old floor brings warmth and character, and quietly reminds you that this beautiful home has been here long before the renovation.

Because a good renovation isn’t always about making everything new. Sometimes it’s about knowing what is worth keeping.

Nothing makes us happier than hearing that a homeowner felt supported throughout the entire renovation process.

One of the things I’ve learned through renovations is that good trades are worth their weight in gold.

We’ve been working with Heatwell for years across different projects, and today they installed the underfloor heating in our own home.

It’s always nice when the people you trust professionally are also the people you trust in your own house.

2025 kept us busy in the best possible way.
Interesting projects, new challenges, amazing clients, and plenty of moments where plans turned into real homes (just how we like it).
