We dedicate utmost care to this process to ensure these precious seedlings grow into beautiful, high-quality varieties. Looking ahead, the next two months will be dedicated to fulfilling and shipping tuber orders. Although managing this operations schedule independently during my two days off is demanding, I am fully committed to ensuring all orders are completed and delivered on time. --> If you have a greenhouse, you can take advantage of the protected, warmer environment right now. The ideal time to sow dahlia seeds in a greenhouse is from mid-August through September.

--> Because today is August 16, you are at the perfect moment to prepare your seeds trays and start sowing.

--> In the absence of a greenhouse, the simplest method for germinating dahlia seeds involves using a damp paper towel/tissue inside a transparent plastic container, spray bit water, put the seeds and cover with lid. Place the container in a warm indoor environment, preferably not too far neither to close to fireplace.

If you are interested in planting seedlings, the right time to sow dahlia seeds in New Zealand is from late August to October and November. Because dahlias are tropical, frost-tender plants, the exact timing depends heavily on your local climate zone and how you choose to start them.

With the onset of colder weather, our garden's flowers are largely dormant. As home gardeners, not commercial flower farmers, our blooms are entirely dependent on weather and seasonal changes. While we have some autumn flowers like roses and ranunculus still flowering, options are limited. We will begin digging our dahlias in late May and June, with sales on our website commencing the month after. Please be reminded that our small home business has limited human resources, which affects the availability of our products.
