Most new homes in NZ are still built to minimum code - which means they’re often cold and damp in winter or overheating in summer. The NZ Building Code regulates minimum materials, not how a home actually performs.

Before you draw up plans or talk to an architect, discover the 7 critical design choices that determine whether your new build succeeds or fails.

In our free Homeowners Guide to Designing a Comfortable Home, you’ll learn:

🟢 Why window placement and orientation are your biggest tools for free winter heat
🟢 How simple changes to home shape save thousands in construction and energy costs
🟢 How an integrated design-build approach removes budget blowouts and performance risk

If you’re planning on build a new house, don’t leave performance to chance.

Get our free guide Smart Design, High Performance: 7 Early Choices That Will Make or Break Your New Home Build — before you start your house plans.

Project Spotlight: Otamatea 🔦

This energy efficient three bedroom home was designed and constructed to the eHaus Euro standard. It incorporates thicker walls (14cm vs standard 9cm), higher levels of insulation in the slab, walls, and ceiling, thermally broken aluminium joinery, and a Zehnder ventilation unit, all exceeding industry standards in energy efficiency and environmental footprint.
