We love designing alterations, each one is a small puzzle and it is quite rewarding to enhance a space and make a house / life better.

Good night last Friday in Christchurch for the ADNZ Resene Architecture awards. We won 2 awards for the Nelson Pine House. A house built completely from locally sourced pine. Managed to design the entire house without using any plasterboard. I am a big fan of creating interest by using exposed honest structural elements.

High on a hill overlooking Tasman Bay. Angles are the key feature of this modern house. Designed to take full advantage of the expansive views, with a sheltered outdoor living space in the middle of the house. Full height glass takes full advantage of the spectacular site. Built by Bruce Design and Build in 2021 this house is highly detailed inside and out.

What better way to fill a space beside a stair than a bar!
This renovation to a holiday house in Kaiteriteri is designed to a high level of detail inside and out. The dark timber veneer creates a moody warm aesthetic which works well in any bar. We enjoyed working with Bays Joinery on this job.
