Supporting local schools and tamariki
A pretty exciting moment for Hampden Street School!
Our new outdoor sensory hub has made the Nelson Mail, and even better, it’s already making a real difference for our tamariki.
A place to reset, recharge, create, play or simply find a bit of calm when the school day feels a little too busy. And judging by the giant chess board, it’s also become a pretty great place to hang out! ♟️
What started as an idea to better support some of our students has become a space that so many are enjoying.
We’re incredibly proud to see it in action, and even prouder to hear our students describe it as a place where they feel “calm,” “safe” and “amazing.”
A big thank you to everyone who helped make it happen, and to the Nelson Mail for shining a light on something pretty special happening right here at Hampden Street.
