🏡 Build Update | Platinum Homes Otago

Fresh from a productive and energising annual conference, it's fantastic to see the momentum carrying through onto our build sites, with exciting progress being made across a number of Platinum Homes projects throughout the region.

✨️Every build is moving closer to completion, and it's always rewarding to see months of planning, teamwork and craftsmanship coming together.

✅ East Taieri – Internal stopping has now been completed, marking a significant milestone, and bricks are ready to go on. This home is about to take on its finished look as the exterior transformation begins.

✅ Kaka Point – The exterior is now complete and looking fantastic. Attention has shifted inside, with the kitchen currently being installed, bringing this beautiful coastal home one step closer to handover.

✅ Rosella Place – Retaining work has been completed, setting the foundation for the next stage. With the site now ready for earthworks, this project is well-positioned to gather momentum in the coming weeks.

✅ Outram – The roof is on, providing a major milestone and giving the home its true shape. Exterior cladding is next on the agenda and will soon see this build really start to come to life.

✅ Three Mile Hill – Preparation work is complete and the property is now ready for roofing. It's exciting to see this build progressing steadily toward the lock-up stage.

✨️A huge thank you to our incredible team, contractors, suppliers and homeowners who make these projects possible. The dedication, skill and collaboration across every stage of the building process continue to deliver outstanding results.

Auckland South Sales Consultants Richard and Laurene are on site at Paul and Hilda's build as the AeroBarrier process gets underway.

Using a fine mist, AeroBarrier finds and seals small gaps throughout the home's building envelope, helping to improve airtightness and reduce heat loss.

As part of Platinum+, it's another step in creating a drier, quieter and more comfortable home that requires less energy to heat.
We're looking forward to seeing Paul and Hilda's Platinum+ home come together.

Hilda is building her new home with our Auckland South team and recently experienced the AeroBarrier process firsthand - which is key part of our Auckland team's Platinum + initiative.

AeroBarrier uses a fine mist to seal small gaps and weak points in the building envelope, helping the home hold its temperature more consistently and reducing unwanted draughts. Combined with balanced DVS ventilation, it's designed to create a warmer, drier and more comfortable home.

For Hilda, it was something she was happy to include after learning more about the process and the difference it could make to how her new home feels to live in.

That's what Platinum+ is about, thinking about comfort from the beginning and building it into the home rather than adding it later.

✨️Outram has moved on from earthworks to slab and now standing frames,
✨️ 3 Mile Hill's earthworks are finished and ready for the slab team, and
✨️East Taieri is on track for the roof to start on Monday.

​Great momentum across all sites despite the winter season and with spring just around the corner, we give a Huge thanks to our subbies and crew for pushing hard through the frost to keep these builds rolling! 🔨❄️

❄️❄️Winter Cold Can't Stop the Progress❄️❄️

Despite the Deep South delivering proper winter conditions, the team has been powering through and ticking off major milestones across Otago:
✨️ Clutha District: Great to get this build fully closed in against the elements.
✨️East Taieri: Perfect timing on the weather—thrilled the snow day hit yesterday so we could get the slab poured smoothly today.
✨️Outram: Earthworks are officially wrapped up so the team can move straight up to the top of ✨️Three Mile Hill to get the next job underway.

Huge effort from the crew pushing through the cold and keeping every project moving forward!

🥶❄️A Chilly Start On Site🥶❄️

The Southern Slabs. team dug deep this morning working on one of our rural building sites in a brisk -4 ° Celsius!! While most people were reaching for an extra blanket, the crew were already on the job, preparing the slab and keeping the project moving forward.

Cold mornings like these bring their own challenges, but the teams commitment, resilience and positive attitude ensure the job gets done safely and to a high standard!

A huge shout out to the crew for braving the frost- covered ground and icy conditions. Your hard work doesn't go unnoticed. 👏
