🌸Dinner plate dahlias are my favourite, they are wild, shaggy and blooms larger than your hand, but don’t look as cool in a bouquet so this season I’ve leaned more towards collerettes and ball type varieties (with the odd dinner plate snuck in 😉)
🌱Collarette varieties are defined as having a single bloom form with a collar of ruffled petals, in varying lengths, that encircles their glowing, button centers. Some of the inner petals are short and dense, while others are long and wavy and resemble feathers or ribbons.
♥️They are simple yet stunningly beautiful
💪🏻They are often stronger stemmed and need less staking which I see as a huge plus in our winds!
