It has been fantastic working alongside my clients to bring their renovation goals to life. This project has involved a full refresh inside and out with new windows, fresh gib, updated exterior cladding and a new studio space that adds real warmth, function and value to their home.

A recent partial re-roof transformation just in time for winter.

The existing roof was well past its best, showing clear signs of wear and potential for leaks. We stripped it back, carried out the necessary structural work, and installed new roofing to give this home a solid, watertight finish ready to handle the colder months.

Not only does it look sharp, but more importantly the home is now warmer, drier, and properly protected.

I’m Mike Preston, founder of Mike Preston Construction. I started my building career back in 2011, and after 15 years on the tools as a Licensed Building Practitioner, I’ve worked across a wide range of residential and commercial projects.

In 2020 I returned home to the Wairarapa and set up my own family‑run building business. Helping local families reach their goals and step into homes they’re proud of is a big part of why I love what I do. Building strong connections with clients is something we really value.

These days we focus on architecturally designed homes, renovations, extensions, and villa restorations. This shower has gone from a tired old unit to a fully tiled, modern space that actually feels good to use.
