We recently caught up with Lucas from Carpet Court & Curtain Studio, who has been part of the team for 10 years and working alongside Jennian Homes for around seven of those.

Lucas talked us through some of the trends he’s seeing in new homes, particularly the move towards hard flooring throughout larger, open-plan spaces - helping create flow and making a space feel even bigger.

When it comes to building, cost per square metre isn’t always as simple as it sounds. 🏡

As Gareth explains, not every square metre costs the same.
A kitchen or bathroom comes with cabinetry, plumbing, appliances and finishes, while areas like bedrooms and living spaces generally cost less per square metre.

It’s also why a larger home can sometimes have a lower cost per square metre than a smaller home - those higher-cost areas are spread across a bigger footprint.
