Stuff.co.nz recently reported on the humble flexihose, the small stainless steel braided hose sitting under just about every sink, vanity, and toilet in your home, and how it's quietly costing Kiwi homeowners millions in water damage every year.

Thinking about renovating your bathroom but not sure where to start?
Your Bathroom Renovation Roadmap

You're not alone. For many homeowners, a bathroom renovation is something they've never done before. That's why we've created Your Bathroom Renovation Roadmap—to show you what happens at each stage of the renovation and what you can expect along the way.

Here's a typical renovation timeline:
🔴 Day 1 – Disconnect & Demolish
Water and electricity will be disconnected, and demolition begins. Your builder, plumber and electrician will all be onsite to get the project underway.
🔴 Days 2–4 – Building Work Continues
Your builder continues with the building work while your plumber returns to complete the pre-pipe when the builder is ready.
🟡 Days 2–4 – Pre-Lining Plumbing & Electrical
Your plumber and electrician return to complete the pre-pipe plumbing and pre-wire electrical work, ensuring all plumbing and wiring are in place before the walls are lined.
🟡 Days 4–6 – Line Walls & Install Shower Tray
The builder lines the walls and floor, and your plumber returns to install the shower tray once the floor is ready.
🟢 1 Week – Waterproofing & Tiling (for tiled showers)
Once the walls and floors are completed and waterproofed, the tiler gets to work. Waterproofing requires approximately three days to dry before the tiler returns to complete the tiling.
🟢 Days 5–7 – Shower Installation
Once the walls are lined, the shower installer installs the liners and doors.
🔵 Days 8–14 – Plaster & Paint
Plastering and painting are completed.
🔵 Days 10–14 – Install Flooring
Flooring is installed.
🔵 Days 10–14 – Final Fit-Off
Your plumber, builder and electrician return to complete the final fit-off, bringing everything together.
🟣 One Week After Completion – Final Quality Check
Our Project Manager returns to site to make sure everything is as it should be and that you're completely happy with your new bathroom.
