⚡ Power Outage? Here’s What To Do When It Comes Back On
If you’ve recently had a power cut, here are a few simple things to keep your home safe when the power is restored:
🔌 Turn appliances back on slowly
Avoid switching everything on at once — especially heaters, ovens, and air con.
⏱️ Give it a few minutes
Let the power settle before loading up your circuits.
💻 Check your electronics
TVs, computers, and routers should come back on normally — but keep an eye on them.
❄️ Fridge & freezer tips
Fridge is usually fine if closed and under 4 hours
Freezer can last 24–48 hours unopened
If unsure: when in doubt, throw it out
⚠️ Watch for warning signs
Flickering lights, burning smells, or breakers tripping? Turn things off and get it checked.
