I couldn’t find Lockie yesterday! He was installing the pump inside its chamber. They are part of a fuel-oil separation solution where the wastewater needs to be lifted to the sewer line.

Are Evergreen Plumbers entering the NZ strongman competition? Maybe, but this 500 litre Mactrap grease trap is only 75 kgs, so transporting and installing it is light work. Evergreen installed Mactrap grease traps at four of the South Taranaki District Council community halls. They will intercept the grease from the kitchen wastewater and protect the sewer from blockages.

The job of the humble grease trap is to separate out the grease and fat to protect drains and city wastewater networks. They also end up with food sediment settling on the bottom of the trap.

Bugs break down these food particles and emit toxic hydrogen sulphide and sulfuric gases. The hydrogen sulphide interacts with water and produces a strong acid which breaks down concrete grease traps. (It is also the source of smells).

Hockly Plumbers were asked to replace a collapsed concrete trap in an alleyway in downtown Wellington. They choose our HDPE 750litre grease trap because it is lightweight, easy to move in tight spaces and has a 30 year warranty.
