This splashback isn't your standard white subway tile, it's a soft blue with a handmade glaze, and it warms up the whole kitchen.

Against the light oak cabinets and white marble-look benchtop, it's the one thing that stops this from feeling too polished. Tile splashbacks can go classic and quiet, or, as you can see by the next image, more dramatic, and a real statement can be made.

That splashback isn't tile or stone, it's a photo of the old homestead, printed straight onto the glass.

Set against the dark cabinetry and grey-veined marble, it's a lovely nod to where this family started out, right there behind the cooktop every time they cook.

That splashback behind the cooktop isn't tile, it's mirrored glass, and it changes the whole feel of the room.

Against the glossy white cabinetry, it bounces back the rangehood glow and the lounge beyond, and the kitchen seems to open right up.

Another kitchen for a lovely couple, and we're pretty chuffed with how it's come together.

Dark timber island against white cabinetry, with a Engineered stone benchtop and splashback running right up the wall. Simple, but it makes the whole kitchen.

That granite on the island is leathered, not polished, so you can actually feel the texture under your hand.
Using the granite as a splashback allowed us to use the piece with the most "movement"in it, to really showcase the stone.

Paired with handless matt black cabinetry, there's just clean lines from bench to floor.
