Forestry Roading Machine Operator Required
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Machine Operator to join our dynamic team working within our Forestry Roading Crew on SH5 Napier.
If you have a strong work ethic, a passion for operating heavy machinery, and a commitment to quality, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities
• Operate earthmoving equipment including excavators, bulldozers, graders, and loaders.
• Perform General Earthworks, building forestry roads.
• Conduct daily equipment checks and basic maintenance.
• Follow safety protocols and site procedures.
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors and crew.
Requirements
• Proven experience operating earthmoving machinery
• Valid NZ driver’s license (WTR endorsements preferred)
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices
• Ability to read site plans and follow instructions.
• Reliable, punctual, and physically fit.

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Junior Earthworks Operator to join our growing team. This is an excellent entry level opportunity for someone keen to build skills in Forestry Roading, Machinery Operation, and Earthworks. You will work alongside experienced operators, learning on the job while contributing to a range of projects across Hawke’s Bay.
What You will Be Doing
• Assisting with day to day earthworks operations
• Operating Roller, Moxy and other machinery (training provided)
• General labouring duties when required.
• Maintaining a safe, tidy worksite
• Following instructions and adhering to company safety procedures
What We are Looking For
• A positive, hardworking attitude
• Willingness to learn and take direction.
• Reliable, honest, and punctual
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
• Class 1 licence required (Class 2 or WTR an advantage)
• Previous labouring or machinery experience helpful, but full training will be provided.

This one’s big for us.

There was a moment during framing on this job where I just stood there and took it in.

Not because of the build itself, but because of what this project actually represents.

This one was always bigger than timber and steel. The story behind it, and what it means to the clients, carries a lot of weight. Being trusted to bring that to life is something I don’t take lightly.

The vision from the clients, along with Adam from , set the tone from day one. It pushed the project to be what it needed to be, and it’s a big part of why it means as much as it does.

We’re proud of delivering a successful project, but that’s only part of it.

A genuine thank you to the clients for the trust they placed in us. And to everyone who played a part along the way, it took a proper team to get this one there.
