Really cool initiative here from Fletcher Building.

Trade waste is a major contributor to land fill and environmental damage. With a large amount of this waste being recyclable, anything we can all do to help reduce this impact is a massive benefit to the future.

Sometimes good ideas simply start with a conversation, a fresh perspective and a willingness to ask, "Is there a better way?"

Damaged plasterboard from GIB®'s Auckland distribution centre is now getting a second life instead of heading for disposal, thanks to a lunchtime conversation that inspired an initiative focused on saving in more ways than one: saving waste, saving time, and saving money.

Rather than sending damaged plasterboard offsite for disposal, the team now returns recyclable board to Winstone Wallboards' Tauriko manufacturing site, where it's processed and transformed into raw material for new plasterboard.

In just two months, more than 32 tonnes of plasterboard has been diverted from disposal, returning recycled material to the manufacturing process.

It's a great example of how innovation comes from anyone, anywhere.

Congratulations to Nathan Marshall and the Auckland warehouse team for finding a solution that's delivering both environmental and commercial benefits.

These Harford CNC mills are the Rolls Royce of machining.

Expensive game of Lego this week for Mitchell.

When this PLC module for an electronic oxygen regulator failed on an old Kinetic gas cutter the boys on site were dead in the water.

A little bit of testing and the team at Chard Electrical were able get it up running temporarily with a home built signal generator while we waited for the correct part to arrive and be changed.

Parts now changed and as good as new.

Bit of shutdown work on the cards today for Caleb and Mitchell. The boys managed to get a full switchboard upgrade completed for our friends at JP Marshall Engineering. May not seem like much but a massive effort with a majority of the cabling requiring joins.

Remember around Christmas when we told you we had big things happening over the break period Here it is.

We are extremely proud to have been involved with the installation of Marshall Profiling Ltd’s new Profile Cutting Systems (PCS) CNC plasma cutter.

Equiped with a 400A bevel plasma head, a 200A vertical plasma head, 14HP spindle and flame capability, there isn’t much this beast can’t cut.

Massive thanks to the team at PCS Australia for the assistance with installation and commissioning.

From this to that.

We recently had a customer call us about a switchboard that had let some smoke out and needed our help.

It was a big night but Caleb with the team at Leco worked through the night to provide this paint shop with a new compressor switchboard up to scratch for their current set up after the old one decided it had had enough. Working through from 5pm to 5am so they could paint for the morning shift.
