A look at some of our recent work on a high-end home right on the beachfront. Full plumbing package from rough-in to final fit-off: bathrooms, ensuites, scullery, bar, laundry and an outdoor wash-down setup around the section.

Hot water runs on gas continuous flow. A Rinnai Infinity for the back of the house and an Infinity ring main for the front, so there’s hot water at every tap in seconds, whether it’s two people at home or a full house over summer.

Clean lines, everything hidden where it should be, and a finish that matches the rest of the build.

This is the part of the job nobody sees once the GIB goes on.

Pre-line is when every pipe, drain and gas line goes into the framing before the walls close. It’s also the last chance to get it right without cutting into a finished wall.

What we check before sign-off: pressure test pipework, fixture positions measured off the plans, falls on waste pipes checked, photos of everything for the builder’s file.

Ten minutes of checking here saves a very expensive day in six months.

Mark runs the show and is still on the tools every day. Corbett, Liam, Ollie and Josh are the ones you’ll see on site alongside him. Hamilton based, working across the Waikato and the Bay of Plenty.

Small crew on purpose. Mark quotes the job, one of us does the job, and the same person sees it through to the end. No handovers, no call centre.

Beautiful new build taking shape in Pirongia for the team at Ebode Homes | SIPs Homes

We’re at pre-line stage this week, running all the pipe work through to the bathrooms, showers, bath and hot water cylinder.

Every one of our builds runs on from our mates at Reece Plumbing NZ Brass copper crimp, no o-rings, less chance of failure, and one of the highest usage rates in the southern hemisphere. Good gear makes for a good job.

Site prep underway in Chartwell for the team at Higgs Building Co | Builders

We’re excavating out for the new pad on this exciting build. High water table on this one, so we’ve been patient and waited for the right weather window to get in, get it done, and keep it tidy.

Next steps: pad goes down, then we’re back in a couple of weeks for underfloor drainage and drainage works, all wrapped up before frames and trusses arrive. Always a pleasure working with the Higgs crew.

Our latest completed project at Marine Parade. One home, two very different hot water needs, off one smart setup.

At peak it heats water for up to 35 people. For 80% of the year, just two. Rather than a thousand-litre cylinder heating water nobody’s using, we went gas continuous flow, heating only what’s needed. A standard Infinity unit runs the back of the house, an Infinity ring main runs the front, kitchen, scullery, ensuite, bar and laundry. Plus a full ring main around the section for cow-shed spec wash-down hoses.
