🏡 There’s something about the Love It or List It show that feels very familiar, don't you think? 📺

You love your home but you also find yourself thinking, 'If only we could change this, fix that, or make better use of this space.' That’s where the decision gets tough.

We know that moving isn’t always the fresh start it seems. Sometimes, the better investment is putting that money into the home you already love - creating a space that works better, feels better, and fits the way your life has actually evolved.

Of course, that doesn’t mean every renovation is the right answer either.

⚖ So where do you think the tipping point between 'we need a new house' and 'we need to change the house we have' lies?

That’s the question we’ve been exploring in our latest blog, and there are a few things we think are worth considering before putting your home on the market.

🤔 What would make you stay and renovate rather than move?

🚿 So good to see another of our Port-a-showers on its way to client for a few days while our team build their new walk-in shower. ✨

Exciting things to come for this family but in the meantime, our handy Port-a-shower offers a temporary shower facility that promises privacy and instant hot water. So easy to pop in a garage, hook up to the mains and a gas bottle, and then drain run-off by hose. Voila! Instant bathroom. 🧼

Don’t forget the Port-a-shower is also available for hire - an ideal addition to your campsite, the beach or events! Chat to us today to learn more.

Are you living with a kitchen that’s been “fine” for years but never quite worked the way you wanted it to? 🏠

🫤You know - the awkward layout, the storage that’s never quite enough, the little things you’ve simply learned to work around...

Then comes the renovation, and somewhere along the way, you realise it’s not just about having a nicer kitchen.

It’s about making everyday life a little easier. A little more enjoyable. And finally having a space that feels like it was designed for the way you actually live. 🤩

We’ve written about that 'this was worth it' moment, and it might be a feeling you recognise. Let us know in the comments!

Does a more expensive kitchen really mean a better renovation? 🤔

Not necessarily.

😍 When renovating your kitchen, it’s very easy to get caught up in the fancy stuff - you know - the statement appliances, the latest finishes, the little details you’ve always wanted.

But if you’re investing a significant amount of money into your home, it’s worth asking a different question: 'Where will your money make the biggest difference?'

Our recent blog points out that it’s not the things that catch your eye that add the most value. The factors that matter most in providing value include:
✔️ Getting the layout right.
✔️ Making better use of storage.
✔️ Choosing quality where it really matters.
✔️ And knowing where you can save without compromising the result.

💰 There’s a fine line between creating a kitchen that adds genuine value and spending more than your home or your neighbourhood is likely to return.

👉 Check out our blog for practical advice on where your kitchen renovation dollars are likely to work hardest, and where you may be better off saving them.

Unpopular opinion: Pinterest is quietly costing homeowners thousands. 💸

Not because the ideas are bad, because they're built on guesses.

Guessed costs. Guessed feasibility. Guessed 'what's even possible.'

Here's what actually works: talk to a specialist reno builder before you fall in love with a mood board.

Why it matters:

🧱 Existing homes hide surprises. Subfloors, off-plan walls, moisture issues, a specialist expects it. A generalist finds out on your dime.

💰 You'll often afford more than you think. Experience shows where to spend, where to save, and where you're overestimating cost.

🎯 One conversation beats a hundred saved pins. No obligation. Just clarity on what's genuinely possible.

Big job or small, it starts the same way - with a conversation, not a Pinterest board.

Everyone's waiting for 'the right time' to renovate. Here's why that time is now, not next summer.

Winter feels like the wrong season to start a reno. It's actually the smart one.

Here's why:

🔨 Builders have more time for YOU. Winter's the quiet season in the trade. That means your specialist reno builder isn't juggling ten jobs, they're focused on yours.

📈 Costs don't wait for you. Materials and labour only move one way over time: up. The kitchen you're dreaming about today costs more in twelve months. That deck you keep putting off? Still not getting cheaper.

🛠️ Small problems don't stay small. A loose deck board or a slow leak feels minor, until it isn't. Sorting it now is a lot cheaper (and less stressful) than fixing the bigger mess it becomes later.

☀️ Start in winter, enjoy by summer. Get ahead of the spring rush, when everyone who planned over winter suddenly wants to start at once.

There's never a perfect time to renovate. But some times are genuinely better than others, and this is one of them.
