Got an ageing skylight, acrylic dome or roof window that's seen better days? 𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗨𝗫 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝟴 𝗦𝗸𝘆𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗨𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 to eligible homeowners across Australia and New Zealand, with entries closing 29 November 2026!

But replacing an old skylight could be about much more than swapping old for new. Imagine a clearer view of the sky, fresh air at the touch of a button, or better control over the daylight coming into your room.

Today's VELUX range opens up some great possibilities, from modern fixed and opening skylights to solar-powered operation, automatic rain sensors and blinds.

Here in the Waikato, our 𝗝𝗖𝗖 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 team can help you explore what's possible with your existing skylight, assess suitable replacement options and find the right solution for your home.

We've put together some practical advice on upgrading older skylights, along with the details of how to enter VELUX's competition.

We've hinted for a while now that there were some exciting things happening behind the scenes...

Well, today we're very excited to finally share what we've been working on!

After 10 years of helping people across the Waikato build, renovate and look after their homes, we're taking an important next step in how we serve our clients.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀, 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗝𝗖𝗖 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱!

𝗦𝗼, 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲?

Building a new home, renovating an existing one and looking after your property all come with different needs. By giving each area its own identity and specialist focus, we're making it easier for our clients to access the right people, expertise and resources for their particular project.

You might also recognise the three gables from our JCC Build logo. They now represent these three main pathways, bringing the whole JCC family together in a clearer way.

But the important thing hasn't changed. Behind it all is the same experienced, award-winning local JCC Build team, with the same commitment to Innovation, Excellence and Integrity.

We're particularly excited about what lies ahead for JCC Homes, and there's plenty more to come from all three brands over the coming months!

The 2026 Master Builders CARTERS Apprentice of the Year National Final gets underway in Auckland today, and we’re wishing all of this year’s regional champions the very best for the days ahead!

Getting to the national stage is a fantastic achievement in itself. A big shout-out too to the employers, mentors, Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation, whānau and supporters who have backed these apprentices along the way, and to Master Builders and CARTERS Building Supplies for continuing to provide a national stage for the next generation of New Zealand builders.

This time last year, JCC Build’s Josh Gullery was in the same position, heading into the National Final with all the nerves, pressure, and excitement that come with competing against some of the country's best apprentices. He would finish the competition as the 2025 National Apprentice of the Year.

A year on, Josh is now a Foreman at JCC Build, leading a crew, developing an apprentice of his own, and putting many of the competition's lessons into practice every day on site.

His advice to this year’s finalists? “Be your best version of yourself, put your best foot forward, and just go out there knowing that you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.”

As Josh’s year as Apprentice of the Year comes to an end, we sat down with Josh and Will to reflect on the journey, from the regional and national competitions through to becoming a Foreman, learning to lead others and how the experience has changed the way Josh approaches his work.

🎥 Watch Josh and Will reflect on the past year in this video.

So to everyone competing this week: back yourselves, enjoy the experience and make the most of it. We’ll be following along and looking forward to seeing who takes home the 2026 title!

𝗔 𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗘 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 🎁
Thanks to everyone who has joined us in celebrating JCC Build’s 10-year milestone over the past week. We’ve really appreciated all the well wishes, messages and congratulations!

Today, Gary from CARTERS Building Supplies stopped by the JCC office with a gift basket for Will and the team to help mark the occasion - a very nice surprise and much appreciated. 🎉

CARTERS has been one of the suppliers we’ve worked alongside over the JCC journey, so a big thanks to Gary and the wider team for thinking of us!

While we’re continuing the celebrations, we’ve also now put together a gallery from our recent team photoshoot at Te Ara Pekapeka Bridge, featuring the crew in our new 10 Years Strong rugby shirts. 📸

A few people have asked to see more of the photos, so you can check out some of our favourites here:

Thanks again to everyone who has helped us celebrate the first ten years — we’re very grateful for all the people and relationships that have been part of the journey. 🥂

𝗝𝗖𝗖 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗 - 𝗧𝗘𝗡 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚 🎉🥂
We’re celebrating a pretty special milestone at JCC Build: 10 years in business!

From those early days in 2016 to the team we are today, it’s been quite a journey, and there is plenty to celebrate.

Over those ten years, we’ve built and transformed homes across the Waikato, taken on some seriously challenging projects, seen apprentices grow into qualified builders and foremen, welcomed plenty of great people into the team, and reached some special milestones along the way.

But when we look back over the first decade, the people are the biggest part of the story.

Our clients who have trusted us with their homes and projects. Our current team and everyone who has worn the JCC shirt over the years. The subcontractors, suppliers and consultants who work alongside us. And the families and friends who have supported the journey behind the scenes.

𝗝𝗖𝗖 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

We recently brought the team together to mark the occasion, starting with our annual photoshoot at Te Ara Pekapeka Bridge in our new 10 Years Strong rugby shirts, before heading to Good George for a well-earned celebration. 🍻🎂

👉 Read the full 10-year story here: https://jccbuild.nz/media/jcc-build-celebrates-10-years

And a special shoutout to Siân with Sian Elizabeth Photography for another great set of team photos, and to Good George Frankton for helping us finish the day with a proper 10-year celebration. 📸

We’re incredibly proud of what has been built over the first decade, grateful to everyone who has been part of it, and very excited about the road ahead.

Plenty is happening behind the scenes at JCC right now, and we have some exciting things to share with you over the coming weeks 👀

Here’s to 10 Years Strong, and to the next chapter! 🥂

𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 🐑🌱
Spring in the Waikato doesn’t always arrive with blue skies. On a wet day like today, it can still feel like winter is hanging around... but the longer days are here, everything is starting to grow again, and so are some of the little jobs around the house.

After months of cold and damp weather, spring is a good time to check what winter has left behind. Gutters can be full, moss starts taking hold on paths and decks, exterior finishes may be showing wear, and heat pumps have usually had a pretty solid workout.

We’ve just given our Spring Home Maintenance Checklist a full refresh for 2026, with practical tips covering the key jobs inside and out, from gutters, roofing and decks through to heat pumps, smoke alarms, gardens and getting your outdoor areas ready for summer. Check it out 👉 https://jccbuild.nz/media/spring-home-maintenance-checklist

A little maintenance now can go a long way towards catching small issues early and helping prevent more expensive repairs later.

If your spring check uncovers something that needs more than a weekend DIY fix (or you have a new spring building project in mind), don't hesitate to get in touch with our team for professional assistance: https://jccbuild.nz/maintenance

The celebrations continue! Last week, Zeke and the Hamilton Boys’ High School U15 boys became National Champions at the 2026 National U15 Rugby Invitational.

𝗦𝗶𝘅 games. 𝗦𝗶𝘅 wins. +𝟭𝟲𝟵 points differential. And a national title 💪

The boys started strongly in pool play:
🏉 53–12 v Wellington College
🏉 19–0 v Hastings BHS
🏉 43–14 v Westlake BHS

From there, they won their quarter-final by 42 points, beat Napier Boys’ High School 39–7 in the semi-final, then got the job done 16–10 against Rotorua Boys’ High School in the final.

An unbeaten week, and HBHS’s fourth National U15 title! We’re incredibly proud of Zeke and have loved following another step in his rugby journey.
