A New Chapter for WM Dunedin 🚛♻️ This week marks an exciting milestone as we officially move into our new Dunedin Supersite.

This investment represents much more than a new facility. It strengthens our capability to support our customers, drive sustainability outcomes, grow our recycling and dewatering services, expand tyre collection operations, and create opportunities for our team well into the future.

A move of this scale takes a huge amount of planning, teamwork, and commitment. I want to sincerely thank every member of the team who helped make it happen. Throughout the transition, they kept the focus where it belongs: ensuring no bin was left behind, maintaining service delivery, and continuing to look after our customers every day.

The move also gave us an opportunity to celebrate someone who has played a significant role in shaping our Dunedin operations.

After a long and distinguished career with WM, Allen Nesbit is retiring from his role as Operations Supervisor. Allen's leadership, commitment, and dedication have left a lasting legacy that will be felt for many years to come.

In recognition of his contribution, we were proud to officially name a dedicated room at the new site "The Nesbit Room." A fitting tribute to a true WM legend.

Congratulations to Raynil Ram on completing his Bachelor of Engineering Technology - Electrical! 🎓 Since joining WM New Zealand through an internship three years ago, Raynil has progressed into a full-time Electric Vehicle Technician role, helping maintain and develop our growing electric fleet.

His journey is a great example of how industry partnerships and hands-on learning can create meaningful career pathways while helping build the skills needed for the future.

We're proud to have been part of the journey⚡🚛💚

An internship that gave TechPark electrical engineering student Raynil Ram his first opportunity with WM New Zealand has developed into a full-time career working on the company's electric vehicle fleet. Find out more about Raynil's learning journey and current work here.

What a team. 🌿🖤 Congratulations to the Silver Ferns on their Commonwealth Games performance. We can’t wait to see them back on court for the WM New Zealand Netball Series this October as they build towards the 2027 Netball World Cup.

⚡ Back in March, we welcomed a major milestone for our fleet: our first Mercedes-Benz eEconic electric rear loader.

Designed with collection crews in mind, the eEconic's low-floor cab helps make getting in and out of the truck easier and safer throughout the day.

A great example of how innovation can support both our people and our sustainability journey. Thank you to our Fleet team, Keith Andrews, and EECA (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) for helping make it happen.
