🥕 HEY FRIENDS! 🥕

Have you heard about what our friends at Our Food Network are doing? They have a really cool new initiative bringing local producers together through a food co-op, making it easier for you to get a regular box of fresh, locally produced veggies and other goodies straight from the people growing and making them.

🌱 Want to know where your food actually comes from?
🥕 Want to support local growers and producers?
🤝 Want to connect with others in your community?
🌏 Want to help build a stronger, more resilient local food system here in Dunedin?

Time to put your money where your mouth is - literally! 😋

There are different box options to suit different households and family needs, so you can choose what works for you. It’s a simple way to eat local, support local, and help build the kind of food system we want to see in our community. ❤️

👉 Check it out and see if there’s an option that works for your whānau! You never know, some of our fruit might show up in the boxes! 🥕🍎🥬 https://www.ourfoodnetwork.org.nz/news/be-a-local-food-hero-join-the-otepoti-local-food-pilot

Ōtepoti, something exciting is growing.
We’re launching a Local Food Pilot to connect households directly with local producers: fruit, veg, meat, dairy, eggs, grains, pantry goods and more.

Join the pilot and help create steady demand, fair prices, and reliable income for our growers and makers. Every Friday you’ll get an email with what’s in your box, and anything you don’t want goes straight to foodbanks or KiwiHarvest.

Let’s build a food system that’s local, resilient, and ours.

This one is a shout out to . Heidi, my most amazing volunteer who has come to the most harvests with me..plums, apples, pears, whatever is going. Heidi is always keen if she can fit her real (paid) work around it and will take some of the produce to the Pātaka Kai in her area - look at this gem! Dr. Heidi you are a saint, a million thanks! ###

Nashi pears? In Dunedin? Come and get them, sprinkled around our Pātaka kai - they are not like the ones from the supermarket...they are tasty, local and organically grown and taste like something else!

So good to deliver more than plums to our Pātaka kai and food banks around our beautiful city. Nashi pears are ripening in Waikouaiti and we are starting to harvest the first apples this week.
