Today the 4 Ever Plumbing team were called to a leaking water main in a driveway. The owner mentioned they have had the pipe repaired several times before. When we dug up the pipe we discovered not one but two seperate leaks. This has likely been caused by the stoney backfill that the pipe has been laid in.

A sacrificial anode prolongs the life of your hot water cylinder by sacrificing itself to corrosion rather than it attacking the cylinder. If you have a steel vitreous enamel or stainless steel mains pressure cylinder it may have an anode that you don’t know about. After mentioning this to a customer they wanted us to replace it. The image on the left shows a brand new replacement anode and the old anode that was in the cylinder which has certainly done its job.

Are you in the clean air zone and would like to replace your existing fire with a low emission burner If you are, then you need to have your consent in before the end of this month. Otherwise as of January 2019 only ultra low emission burners are allowed these are also much more expensive.
