One of my favourite NZ natives. Clianthus puniceus 'Rosea' and 'Alba'. Better known as the Kakabeak. Such a beautiful flower. Grows best in a dry site and benefits from regular pruning. Watch out for slugs and snails as its a favourite of theirs too!

Last chance to get your deciduous open ground trees. Prunus, Cornus, Acer, Pyrus and fruit trees.

These will be bagged on over the next few weeks and then not available till December/ January.

Most of these trees are too large to send. Come and see me at the nursery 9am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday.

Dear Valued Customer,

We are writing to inform you that after 33 years at the helm the time has come for us to retire. We have sold our business to Kate Gilliland who has been an employee here for over 3 years. Kate has an extensive knowledge of the stock we grow and will continue to provide you with the same great service you have come to expect from Pioneer Nursery.

Kate takes over the reins on September 26th. The phone number and email will remain the same and all current orders will be fulfilled without interruption. If you are purchasing with an invoice you will receive the new bank details from September 26th.

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your custom, in particular those of you who have been loyal supporters returning to us year in and year out. It has been a privilege to work with you and we have made many friends along the way. We trust you will continue to support Kate and her team at Pioneer Nurseries 2026 Ltd.

We wish Kate and her staff all the very best for the future and are heartened to know we are leaving our business in good hands.
