Directions Website

Providing trusted Electrical, Aircon & Solar solutions to the Canterbury, NZ region. We have approximately 16 employees and a wide skill base.

Skilled Electrical is an electrical contracting company based in Christchurch. We pride ourselves on being easy to deal with and in being a down to earth honest and hard working bunch. Giving good service is the cornerstone of the company. We have worked hard over the last several years to "do the fundamentals" well within the business, with the idea that if we do these things well then good stuff will happen. And so far that has been the case with our growth being around 50% per year over the last 4 years. We plan to begin implementing a comprehensive training program for all of the staff over the coming months, we want to eventually be known for having the best in house training system for any electrical firm within New Zealand.

🚗 You service your car... so why not your heat pump? ❄️

Most of us wouldn't drive our car for years without a service, yet many heat pumps never get one!

Your heat pump works hard every day to keep your home warm through winter. Over time, dust and dirt build up inside the filters and coils, making it work harder, use more power and reducing its lifespan.

A professional service helps:
✅ Improve heating performance
✅ Lower power bills
✅ Improve indoor air quality
✅ Reduce the chance of unexpected breakdowns
✅ Extend the life of your heat pump

Don't wait until the coldest day of the year to find out your heat pump isn't performing the way it should.

📅 We recommend having your heat pump professionally cleaned and serviced every 12 months.

If it's been a while since your last service, we'd love to help.

🔧 5 Reasons to Service Your Heat Pump This Winter. With the cold snap here, your heat pump is already working overtime. Here's why a service now is worth every cent:

1. It actually heats better 🌡️
A dirty filter makes your unit work twice as hard for half the result. A clean, serviced unit pumps out maximum heat from day one.

2. Your power bills stay lower 💡
A poorly maintained heat pump can use up to 25% more electricity. That's money straight out of your pocket every single month.

3. It lasts longer 🏡
Regular servicing catches small issues before they become expensive repairs or a full replacement when you need it most.

4. Your air stays clean 🌱
Filters full of dust, mould and bacteria circulate right through your home. Not ideal when the windows are shut and the family's inside all day.

5. Your warranty stays valid ✅
Many manufacturers require regular servicing to keep your warranty active. Skip it, and you could be footing the full repair bill yourself.

Don't wait until it breaks down on the coldest night of the year.
