Te Āhuru Mōwai homes delivered for whānau in Tītahi Bay
This week marked a significant milestone for Te Āhuru Mōwai - Homes for Whānau and our Switched On Building Solutions team, as ten new homes at the Tuki Street development in Tītahi Bay were officially opened for the whānau who will soon call this place home.
The occasion opened with a blessing from Ngāti Toa kaumātua Dr Taku Parai of Ngāti Toa Rangatira, honouring the whenua and the whānau who will live there. Te Āhuru Mōwai Chief Executive James Te Puni spoke to the impact these homes will have for generations to come - a sentiment felt throughout the day.
Mayor Anita Baker, Hon Tama Potaka, and Helmut Modlik joined the celebration alongside members of the wider community. The most meaningful moment came when some of the new tenant whānau saw their homes in person for the very first time which was a powerful reminder of why this mahi matters.
Switched On Building Solutions was honoured to be selected by Te Āhuru Mōwai as main contractor on this project, working alongside Ngāti Toa trades and local subcontractors to deliver these beautiful homes that will support whānau and the future of the Tītahi Bay community.
Ngā mihi nui to our Switched On Building Solutions Wellington team for the care and dedication brought to this project.
