Meet Mike!

Mike is one of our Carpenters and has been part of the Radius team for the past 18 months. In that time he has become a valued member of our crew.

Originally from Wellington, Mike completed much of his apprenticeship in the Coromandel, learning his trade while working on high-end architectural homes. His passion for building started at a young age, inspired by his grandfather, a civil engineer, and an early appreciation for design and the process of bringing ideas to life.

When he's not on site, Mike and his lovely wife Kayla, are super busy with their four children. With a full family calendar, spare time is hard to come by, but if he gets the chance you'll likely find Mike out tramping and enjoying the outdoors.

Over his nine years in the industry, Mike has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience, working on everything from intricate architectural details, to the attention to detail that bring a home to life

It's this combination of experience, craftsmanship and care that makes Mike such a valued member of the Radius team. Thanks Mike for being “all smiles on deck” and stepping up, every day. We’re stoked to have you on the team.

Radius Company Day.

Every quarter, the Radius team presses pause on the day-to-day and comes together to focus on the other things that matter.

We cover Health & Safety, test and tag the tools, check over the vehicles, undertake training and make time to check in with one another. There may also be a healthy amount of banter, a few drinkies and some well-earned nibbles.

Investing in people, learning together and having each other's backs is what builds strong teams... and strong teams build great homes.

From foundations in the ground to framing going up and now the roof on, it’s exciting watching another couple of great homes come to life.

Meet Garry!

Garry is one of our Foreman and to say Radius Building couldn't operate without him would be an understatement.

Garry has been part of our team for almost eight years and brings more than 21 years of industry experience to every project he oversees. Just when we think he knows everything there is to know, he'll share another pearl of wisdom that reminds us why he's one of the very best at what he does.

Whether he's mentoring apprentices, solving problems before they become problems or quietly keeping multiple sites running smoothly, Garry leads with calm, humility and an unwavering commitment to doing things properly.

Married to the lovely Jacqui and dad to two young sons, he somehow still finds time for his passion for running.

Garry doesn't seek recognition, but he earns enormous respect. His loyalty, generosity, insight and ownership make Radius Building a better place every day. He's not simply part of the team — he's part of who we are.

Garry, thank you for being all in. We're incredibly grateful to have you on this journey with us.

When we built our own home back in 2012, I didn’t think we needed an Interior Designer.

Richard thought we should. I thought, “How hard can choosing colours be?”

Fast forward to me standing in random driveways holding brick samples in the air, trying to match joinery colours to a roof three houses away. We actually had a great day driving around admiring homes… but wow, it would’ve been far less stressful having a professional guide us from the start!

That experience taught us something valuable, building or renovating your home should feel exciting and enjoyable, not overwhelming.

At Radius Building our process and partnerships with leading designers, trusted suppliers and skilled trades, help make the journey feel easy, well supported and genuinely enjoyable, so our clients have real peace of mind and look back on the experience with fond memories.

Building on the hills is not for the faint-hearted.
