There's a lot that happens behind the scenes before an order reaches our customers!

Checking stock, picking and packing orders, organising deliveries, following up on enquiries and occasionally tracking down that one product someone needs urgently. 😅

And then there are the things that don't necessarily appear on an invoice.

💜Remembering a customer's usual order.
💜Noticing when something doesn't look quite right.
💜Finding an alternative when a product isn't available.
💜Taking the time to explain how something works.

They're small things, but they're all part of what we do.

We're a small Christchurch team, and while we don't always get everything perfect, we genuinely care about getting it right.

As a Hygiene Direct sales franchisee, you'll build your own customer base from scratch, working with businesses across a wide range of industries to help them find the right cleaning, hygiene and workplace solutions.

You'll be out meeting people, finding new opportunities, building relationships and growing your own business.

**You're starting from the ground up, but you're not doing it alone.**

You'll have the backing of an established New Zealand brand, access to a comprehensive range of products and suppliers, and support from the wider Hygiene Direct network.

You don't need to be a cleaning or hygiene expert!

We're a locally owned and operated business, supplying cleaning and hygiene products to businesses throughout Canterbury.

This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety, including:

🚚 Delivering orders to our customers
📦 Picking, packing and preparing orders
🤝 Building great relationships with our customers
💜 Helping out with the day-to-day warehouse operations

We're looking for someone who's organised, enjoys being active, has a positive attitude and takes pride in doing a job well.

Sometimes running a hygiene business means swapping the laptop for a drill! 🔧😂

A little behind-the-scenes look at what I was up to today — installing dispensers at a local early childhood centre.

When we talk about providing complete hygiene solutions, it's not just about supplying the products.

It's about making sure everything is set up properly, works for the people using it and makes everyday cleaning and hygiene routines that little bit easier.

And in an early childhood environment, that means thinking about the little people too! 💜

From choosing the right products and dispensers to installation, ongoing supply and training, there's often a lot more happening behind the scenes than people realise.

And yes, sometimes that means getting the tools out and doing the installation myself! 😄

You don’t always need to know the product code. Sometimes you just need to know the colour of the box. 😂

We asked Corrinna:
“What’s the strangest or most creative way a customer has described a product when they couldn’t remember its name?”
Turns out, one of the most common ways is simply by colour.

“I need the normal toilet paper in the blue box.” Or… “Not that one — the one in the green box."

And the funny thing is… Corrinna usually knows exactly what they mean. 😂

We use colour coding on some of our cartons to help differentiate between similar products and product codes — and over time, those colours become part of the language our customers use when ordering.

So if you can't remember whether it's a 7140M, 7140S or whatever other combination of letters and numbers we've thrown at you…

“The normal toilet paper in the blue box” is a perfectly acceptable place to start. 💜
Sometimes good customer service is simply knowing your customers well enough to speak their language.

Behind the Purple 💜

They might not be the prettiest cartons you’ll see arriving at your door… but there’s a reason for that. 📦

Where we can, we reuse the cartons and packaging that come into our Christchurch branch rather than automatically reaching for a brand-new box.

And all that shredded paper you can see? That’s ours too.

Instead of buying additional plastic or paper void fill, we shred suitable office paperwork and give it another job protecting products inside customer orders.

Is it glamorous? Definitely not. 😂
Does it mean some of our cartons look a little well-loved? Absolutely.

But for us, sustainability isn’t only about the products we sell or the programmes we offer. It’s also about the small, everyday decisions happening behind the scenes.

Reuse what we can. Reduce unnecessary packaging. Make the most of what we already have.

So if an slightly ugly carton turns up with your next Hygiene Direct delivery, now you know why. 💜♻️
