As we hit late August, soil temperatures in Canterbury are slowly starting to wake up! Here is your quick end-of-winter checklist:

🍋 Citrus Trees: Hold off on heavy feeding until spring temperatures truly kick in next month to avoid forcing delicate leaf growth into a late frost. In the meantime, keep roots protected with a thick layer of Pea Straw ($13/bale at the yard!) or hit them with a root-strengthening seaw**d tonic.

🌱 Winter Lawns: Clear away those remaining wet leaves blocking sunlight and apply a slow-release winter lawn feed to build root strength without causing weak, rapid leaf growth.
