Let us take you behind the scenes to The Kitchen Studio project in 2024. There's boxes everywhere. Sparkies doing their thing. Tradies coming and going. A kitchen studio that looked more like organised chaos than a finished space.

In true J B Kees fashion it all came together with a few hours to spare. 👌

👀 Sneak Peek of our Halkett Road Project.

This one's been a journey and we're pretty chuffed with how it's all come together.

From the early days of digging, framing and making a bit of a mess (it's got to look worse before it looks better) there's been plenty happening here behind the scenes.

The pool house is now complete, and we're giving you a little look behind the curtain while we wait for the professional photos to be taken.

There's some superb detailing in this one, we're particularly loving how the timber cladding ties everything together. Add the pool, the rural setting, an expansive deck to kick back and relax on and you've got yourself an entertainers dream space.

While we wait to take some professional pics, here's a little look at the journey from the early days to where we are now.

🚨 NEW LADS ON THE BLOCK 🚨

It's time we introduced you to the two newest additions to the J B Kees crew, Nathan & Victor.

They've been with us for a little while now, so we thought it was probably time you met them before they start wondering why we've been taking photos of them wearing the Helmet of Shame™.

First up, Vic.

Vic asks a LOT of questions.
Like... a lot.
But we'll take that over someone pretending they know what they're doing any day of the week. His enthusiasm is refreshing to see, and he's keen to learn and isn't afraid to ask when he's not sure.

Then there's Nathan.

Our strong, silent type. 💪
Doesn't waste too many words, gets stuck in and quietly gets the job done. He's still working on developing the same level of enthusiasm for the humble broom as he has for the rest of the job... but we're confident we'll get there. Eventually.

Both lads have settled in really well and we're stoked to have them on board.

Welcome to the team, boys.
Good sorts. Questionable broom enthusiasm. Excellent potential.

Well... it's been manic behind the scenes which means we've been a bit quiet on here. 👀

Turns out building houses, wrangling the lads, keeping clients happy and generally keeping the wheels turning takes up a bit of time.

We've got a fair bit to catch you up on.

We've got finished homes, new builds, new crew members, some questionable builder banter and plenty of behind-the-scenes stuff we've been meaning to show you.

So we're dusting off the social media account and getting back into it.

Last Thursday we celebrated two of our lads who entered into Master Builders Apprentice of the Year 2026.

They didn't make the top three, but that doesn't change how proud we are of them.

Putting yourself forward, getting up there and having a crack deserves a bit of recognition in our book.

And let's be honest, it was a good excuse to get the whole crew dressed up, have a few laughs and spend some time together outside the building site.

A huge congrats to the top three winners, we're lucky to have a good bunch coming through the ranks.

Well done lads. 👏

What started as an empty patch of dirt in Sheffield is now a giant hay shed....emphasis on the GIANT part, it's massive.

This was a mammoth build.
It took late nights, grafting even in the wet weather, and a crew who kept showing up and getting it done.

We’ve shared this one as a picture journey from start to finish, from empty land, to poles going up, to a huge shed that’ll be earning its keep for a long time yet.

Huge credit to the lads for the mahi on this one, and a big thanks to Glenrowan Feeds for trusting us with a project of this size.

🛠️ Holiday Shutdown Dates

We’ll be dropping tools after our last day on Friday 19th December and firing the coffee machine back up on Wednesday 14th January.

A huge shoutout to our crew for giving it everything they’ve got, and to our clients for trusting us with their dream spaces.

If you need us before we sneak off for a well-deserved break, now’s a great time to sing out.
Otherwise, we’ll see you in January feeling recharged, caffeinated, and ready to get stuck back in.
