🏆 A proud result for the team at JDS Plastering
A couple of weeks ago, members of our team travelled to Auckland for the AWCI Awards of Excellence, and we came home with plenty to be proud of.
Two of our apprentices represented JDS in the Apprentice of the Year competition, putting their skills to the test alongside some of the best young tradespeople in the industry.
While they didn’t take home the title this year, both performed exceptionally well and demonstrated a level of workmanship that reflects the standards we’re working hard to build throughout JDS. Putting yourself forward to have your work judged at a national level takes confidence, and they both deserve a huge amount of recognition for how they represented themselves and the company.
The biggest milestone of the night for us was JDS Plastering taking first place in the Residential category at the AWCI Awards of Excellence — making us the national winner for 2026. 🏆🇳🇿
This award belongs to the entire team.
From fixing and stopping through to the people behind the scenes organising, pricing and managing our projects, it takes a collective effort to consistently deliver high-quality work.
We’ve been putting a lot of focus into improving our workmanship, systems and standards as JDS continues to grow, so receiving national recognition from our industry is a pretty special achievement.
A massive congratulations to our apprentices and everyone at JDS who contributed to this result.
Proud of what we’ve achieved — and even more motivated by where we’re heading next.
