It gives us a clear picture of the land, the roof layout, shading, and orientation so we can design a system that's going to perform at its best from day one. Every site is different, and this step helps us get it right before anything goes in the ground or on the roof.

We recently got the chance to tour the Vynco factory right here in Christchurch.

We use Vynco products daily on our jobs, so it was great to see firsthand how they're made and the level of quality control that goes into each product before it reaches us on site.

The thing that really stood out was their commitment to minimal waste. Seeing a company of that scale genuinely prioritising sustainability through its operation was impressive.

Not every solar install goes on a roof.

This 64-panel ground mount system out in Cust is a great example of what's possible when you've got the space and the right team behind it. Ground mounts give you flexibility: ideal orientation, easy access for maintenance, and no compromises on roof structure.

A project like this doesn't just happen overnight, though. We worked closely with the regions District Council through the consenting process to make sure everything was done properly from the start. It's one of those behind-the-scenes steps that people don't always see, but it's a big part of getting a system of this scale across the line.

The result? A seriously capable setup generating clean energy right where it's needed.

If you've got land and you've been weighing up solar, a ground mount might be the perfect fit.

Most farmers we talk to aren't chasing trends 👩‍🌾

Power bills on a working farm add up fast: pumps, sheds, cool stores, workshops. Solar makes sense because it directly offsets the energy you're already using, every single day.
