This project shows how well we can use our expertise in school and prefabricated design. Having to comply with some of the most stringent acoustic requirements meant a standard process only took the team so far.

One of our more challenging projects to date is the expansion of our Hanley’s Farm School in Queenstown. A two-storey OMB featuring specialist learning (tech) spaces. The lower floor has been completed using a panelised system while the upper level is a fully volumetric prefabricated system. The modules pushed the limits of what can be transported to limit the number of delivery runs.

Our strong working relationships with, Hanley’s Farm School, MoE, Southbase Construction, engineers and prefabricators made the project run smoothly for all involved.

Construction has begun at 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥! Our first design-and-build collaboration with 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐨𝐧 will deliver seven new teaching spaces and a refurbished admin block designed to support students and staff for years to come.

It’s great to see the value of working closely with our construction partners to deliver efficient, cost-effective spaces that truly work for schools.

We're thrilled to have raised $2600 for Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu School Starter Packs. The school starter pack initiative supports Ngāi Tahu tamariki to begin the next step in their education journey. Each School Starter Pack is made up of an assortment of practical and taonga items to ease financial pressures for whānau and offer an opportunity for young Ngāi Tahu to connect with their iwi – Mō tātou, ā, mō kā uri ā muri ake nei. We’re proud to be able to tautoko this awesome mahi. Thank you to Mel for laying down the wero and to Tuahiwi Education for the ongoing work you do in this space. We would also like to pass on the wero to all of you to continue on your own learning journeys. Stay curious! Finally, ngā mihi nui to those of you who supported this project. Meet Dennis Chippindale - he is the Principal of CO-STUDIO Architects. They have been “residents” of Cashel Street for almost 20 years and love the vibe of being centrally located.

Not only is Dennis an accomplished architect, but he is also a prolific amateur artist. Recently he has completed nine artworks, inspired by the “nine tall trees” of Ngāi Tahu’s treaty settlement claim.

These stunning watercolour paintings are being auctioned off to raise funds for Ngāi Tahu’s school starter packs. Auctions close Thursday 9th May at 6:30 pm. Check out The Nine Tall Trees webpage: https://www.co-studio.com/nine-tall-trees

We are very excited to see the construction of the Coastguard Canterbury Headquarters commencing in the next few weeks, in collaboration with our Design and Build partner Amalgamated Builders.

This purpose-built facility, located within the Naval Point redevelopment in Lyttleton, will feature essential amenities such as training and meeting rooms, a radio room, and secure storage for the Coastguard's rescue boat.
