Pleased to share this upcoming project in the stunning Waihopai Valley for a great local family.

It's been a great collaboration with the clients and other industry professionals to come up with a two stage approach for them.
This first two bedroom block is in for consenting now, with a future master suite, additional living space and double garage allowed for in the design.

Granny flats building consent exemption becomes law today!

A new granny flat can now be built without a building consent if:

it is a single-storey, standalone dwelling
it is no bigger than 70 square metres
it has a simple design and meets the Building Code
all exemption conditions are met
the work is done or supervised by licensed building professionals (LBPs, plumbers, drainlayers, gasfitters, electrical workers), as it is restricted building work.

Homeowners MUST get a Project Information Memorandum (PIM) from their council before building work starts. When the build is finished, they must tell the council by providing documents like final plans, Records of Work, and certificates of compliance.

Who loves a Mullet House?
Formal Villa out front & a modern entertainers dream to the back.

Here's a render showing what's to come from the team at Black Stag Build Group at the Furness Villa on Maxwell Road.
This will be a bold, modern extension with contrasting form to the existing villa, but will use materials that help blend the two together.
