Today we're proud to support Daffodil Day and the incredible work of the Cancer Society.

Cancer has touched the lives of so many Kiwi families, friends and communities, and Daffodil Day is a great reminder to get behind those going through some of their toughest times.

Our very own Kylie will be outside Noel Leeming from 11am-2pm collecting donations, so if you're passing by, make sure you stop in, say hello and show your support!

Whether you're donating, wearing a daffodil or simply helping spread the word, every bit of support counts.

We were proud to jump on board as a sponsor of this year’s Tussock Run!

It’s always great to support local events that get people out and about, bring the community together and showcase our awesome backyard.

A massive well done to everyone who took part, whether you were racing for the win, chasing a personal best or just trying to make it to the finish line!

Big thanks to the organisers and volunteers who put in the work behind the scenes to make events like this happen.

We’re stoked to have played a small part in supporting another great local event.

Let’s Talk About Cancer

The team at Callahan and Martella are getting behind this great local event supporting an incredibly important cause.

Chris Thornley will be sharing his deeply personal journey with prostate cancer, helping to raise awareness, start conversations and raise funds for a cause that touches far too many of us.

Today we're saying goodbye to our cheeky blue-eyed Gary. After an incredible 13 years with Callahan & Martella, he's decided it's time to pack up and head off to Christchurch to be closer to family.

Gary has been such a core part of our team over the last 13 years and it's going to be very strange not having him around. From the knowledge and experience he's always been willing to share, to the workplace chats, laughs and plenty of banter, Gary has brought a lot to C&M over the years.

He's been much more than just someone we work alongside. He's been a great workmate, a friend, and someone you could always count on to lend a hand. His personality and presence around the place will be seriously missed - especially by Kylie, who's not quite sure what she's going to do without her work husband around every day!

While we're gutted to see him go, we're also really happy for Gary and his family as they start their next chapter in Christchurch.

From all of us at Callahan & Martella, thank you for everything you've given us over the past 13 years, Gary. We're incredibly grateful for everything you've done, the knowledge you've passed on and all the memories and laughs along the way.

You'll always be part of the C&M family, mate. ❤️

We've got one more introduction to make, and here we have Ben!

Ben originally spent some time with the team while he was still at school as part of the Gateway program, which is where his interest in the electrical industry really started.

Fast forward a couple of years and Ben is now a permanent part of the team as an Electrical Apprentice, getting stuck into all things electrical and learning plenty along the way. He also enjoys being part of the crew and, of course, the workplace banter!

Outside of work, Ben keeps himself busy playing hockey, cricket and golf.

It's great to have Ben as part of the team, and we're looking forward to watching him develop his skills and seeing where his career in the electrical industry takes him!

Say hello to Logan, who recently joined the team as an Electrical Apprentice!

Logan has hit the ground running and, with the workload we've got on at the moment, he's been getting stuck into everything that's come his way. He's already proving himself as a hardworking and enthusiastic member of the team.

A local lad from the Awatere, Logan enjoys spending his time outside hunting, fishing and helping out on the farm. He's always had a real interest in the electrical industry and loves learning how things work, making an apprenticeship the perfect fit.

One of Logan's favourite things about working at Callahan & Martella is being part of a great team. He enjoys the friendly atmosphere, the workplace banter, and working alongside experienced electricians every day.

Welcome aboard, Logan - we're looking forward to seeing where your career takes you!

We're excited to introduce Alasdair, better known around the team as Cookie, who recently joined us as an Electrician.

Cookie has been in the electrical industry since 1985 and has called Blenheim home since 1993, after moving here following his OE. With decades of experience under his belt, he enjoys the variety the job brings, meeting new people, and working alongside the team (we like to think we're a pretty good bunch too!).

One of the things Cookie enjoys most is the satisfaction of seeing equipment come to life after an installation or repair—there's nothing quite like knowing everything is working as it should.

Outside of work, Cookie has spent many years involved in musical theatre backstage and brass banding. These days, you'll usually find him relaxing with a good book or spending quality time with his wife, Ange, and their four adult children.

Welcome to the team, Cookie! We're glad to have you on board.
