These guys don't just turn up for work each day - they also volunteer their time, skills, and energy to help keep our communities safe when they're needed most.

Whether it's responding to fires, assisting with search and rescue operations, or helping people on the water, we're incredibly proud to have people on our team who are willing to step up and serve their community.

We're off to the Future of Work Expo this Wednesday!

Supporting apprentices and helping grow the next generation of tradies is a big part of what we do. There’s nothing better than seeing someone start out on their first day and develop into a qualified electrician a few years later.

The electrical industry offers a huge range of opportunities, and the expo is a great chance for students to see what a career in the trade can look like.

If you're heading along, make sure you stop by and have a chat with Georgia and Cohen. They'll be happy to answer any questions and share what it's really like working in the industry.

A massive congratulations to Angus, better known as Gus, on officially becoming a qualified electrician ⚡👷

Gus has put in a huge amount of hard work over the years to reach this milestone and we’re proud to have been part of the journey.

Since joining the team, Gus has become well known for his work across solar installations, fault finding, and general electrical works - along with keeping everyone entertained along the way.

From the family farm to the worksite, there’s never a dull moment with Gus around and we’re looking forward to seeing where the trade takes him next.

Well done mate - a well deserved achievement and a big milestone ticked off!

A rare sighting out in the wild today! 👷⚡

Our Office Manager Kylie traded the desk, emails, and phone calls for a hard hat and high-vis vest, spending some time on site with the boys at Summerset to see firsthand what goes on behind the scenes.

While the office keeps things running smoothly, getting out on site is always a great reminder of the work, planning, and teamwork that goes into every project.

We're not sure whether the boys enjoyed the extra supervision, but we think she was happy to swap the office chair for a site visit for a few hours

We’d like to officially welcome Edwin to the Callahan & Martella Electrical team ⚡

Joining us as an electrician, Edwin has already made a strong impression with his knowledge and experience across pumps, PLC systems, and general electrical work.

Since starting with the team, Edwin has hit the ground running, assisting on major projects including water treatment plant works and commercial expansion projects, quickly becoming a valued member of the crew.

Outside of work, Edwin has four kids who we’re sure do a good job of keeping him busy and out of trouble.

Happy King’s Birthday Weekend from the team at Callahan & Martella Electrical 👑⚡

We hope everyone across Marlborough enjoys a well-earned break, stays safe on the roads, and gets the chance to spend some time with family and friends.

While our office will be closed for the public holiday, our afterhours call out service remains available for urgent electrical issues over the weekend. Just call through to 035794445 and follow the prompts.

We’ve had a few new starters join the Callahan & Martella Electrical team over the past couple of months and thought it was about time we introduced them all to you!

Over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing a few team introductions so you can put some faces to the names behind the work we do across the Marlborough region ⚡👷

First up, we’re starting with Ruslan, better know as Rus!

Rus joined the team back in November 2025 as our Electrical Engineer and quickly became a key part of the crew. He brings plenty of laughs to the job site, backed by solid technical knowledge and experience. Outside of work, he keeps busy volunteering with the Blenheim Rural Fire Brigade and LandSAR, or heading out to explore the Marlborough mountains and ocean.

Its been a busy few months here at C&M and it’s been a wee while since we’ve shared an update from the team so here we go!

We’ve got a massive shout out to make to Riley, who has recently completed his electrical apprenticeship and is now a registered electrician ⚡

After years of hard work, study, and hands-on learning, Riley has officially qualified and we couldn’t be prouder of what he has achieved.

Riley originally joined the team through the Gateway Programme with Marlborough Boys’ College, and seeing him grow into the electrician he is today is exactly why we’re passionate about supporting apprentices and helping grow the future of the electrical trade.

Safe to say AI still has a long way to go before it replaces good tradies like these boys 👷

A massive congratulations Riley - well deserved, and here’s to many more years ahead with the team!
